Electrical Test Engineer (Automated/Manual Testing/Vector)

Electrical Test Engineer (Automated/Manual Testing/Vector) required by a highly regarded automotive company based in Lancashire. The right Electrical Test Engineer (Automated/Manual Testing/Vector) will work on a long term contract basis, with responsibility for both automated and manual testing, across over 300 test cases.

You will have the following responsibilities:

  • To define, plan and manage electrical, electronic and software based vehicle systems to meet project/program objectives.
  • To successfully achieve timely project releases and signoff while working with stakeholders using requirement management via bench, HIL and vehicle validation.
  • To agree planning, milestones and KPI's while identifying and managing the resources to successfully achieve project objectives
  • To author test cases and scripts while maintaining traceability with requirements.
  • To manage attributes and results including producing reports for signoff/closure.
  • To develop the HIL capability including integration of additional vehicle systems.
  • To assist stakeholders with requirements definition and management.
  • To uphold the integrity of the validation process within the development V cycle.
  • To perform analysis tasks including system FMEA's and six sigma techniques.

You will have:

  • Practical proven experience and working knowledge of electronic, electrical, software and systems solutions ideally from an automotive or related industry field.
  • Knowledge of best working practice for managing, planning, developing and testing of electronics/electrical and software systems with complex inter/intra systems relationships.
  • Working knowledge of requirements capture management ideally IBM RequisitePro with traceability, defect reporting and linking of requirements to test script/cases.
  • Experience of automated/HIL development and testing using Vector toolset (CANoe/TAE etc)
  • Knowledge of serial data communications (ie, CAN/LIN, J1939).
  • Strong confident planning, organisation and communication skills at all levels.
  • A degree or equivalent in a relevant electrical/electronics engineering discipline.

  • A recognised technical expert and able to lead and develop teams and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with drive and initiative.
  • Confident dealing at all levels within the business and externally.
  • Six Sigma or DFSS trained with experience of successfully completing projects preferred
  • Qualified in a relevant electrical/electronics engineering discipline
