Description

We are looking for a Structure Wiring Analyst in IL who performs design, testing, installation and support for the network technical infrastructure, which primarily includes structured wiring of server hardware, peripherals and network equipment located in the centralized computer center. Ensures the server and network hardware infrastructure is compliant, secure, and highly available.

Role: Structured Wiring Analyst

Location: Bloomington, IL

Start: 2 weeks

Duration: 6 months

With limited assistance, performs design, testing and installation of structured wiring equipment according to best practices.
Prepares equipment cabinets, racks, and cable managers for installation of communication cabling, computer equipment, and fiber optic networks.
Develops test documents for structured wiring setups for small to medium efforts.
Conducts testing.
Creates system and product installation plans.
Performs hardware and software installations.
Provides infrastructure troubleshooting and support.
Recommends appropriate problem approach to peers based on risk/benefit analysis.
Provides on-call (off-hour and weekend) support for assigned hardware and software.
Mentors less-experienced staff on the standards of structured wiring.
Tracks the location of computer equipment using tracking tool and spreadsheets.
Monitors the ITS Cabling mailbox for structured wiring requests, identifies activities needed to complete the assignment, breaks them into tasks, and completes within detailed time estimates.
Participates on projects, providing structured wiring expertise.
Performs other related work as required or requested.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

- Knowledge of related technologies, such as video-conferencing.

- Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing, reaching, stooping, repetitive motions, Workstation confinement, and the lifting of heavy objects up to 50lbs or more.

- Must possess an above average tolerance to various noise levels.

- Must possess average visual number, letter, and color comprehension.

- May require occasional travel between home office, regional offices and alliance partners to participate in project-related activities.

- Must be able to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
