Finance Manager - 6 months - Nottingham - Negotiable Daily Rate

A leading Energy and Utility client of Hyphen is looking for a commercially focused Finance Manager to join their site in Nottingham, as part of a large scale Customer Service Programme and being accountable for the Finance work within their Nottingham, Bolton and Sheffield customer service sites.

Job Purpose
Partnering the operation to ensure changes and improvements are kept on track, new opportunities captured and implemented and contract negotiations supported. Effective delivery of a full financial management information suite to business managers and Finance stakeholders encompassing planning, reporting and forecasting (Functional Finance Controlling).

Key focus
* Finance business partner to Head of Customer Service Business areas and to and their Operations Leadership Team members.
* Responsible for regular Reporting pack for Business area Executive team
* Key relationship with Resource Planning Team to effect changes to and controls over resource levels.
* Represent Finance at project steering groups and procurement sourcing groups. Main

Responsibilities
* Challenges, supports and drives business stakeholders to achieve strategy and business targets
*In all reporting and forecasting activities, gets the basics right first time and efficiently, provides insight and commentaries unburdened by accounting complexities and drives towards timely action and mitigation by self and/or business
*Provide minimum monthly performance (financial and non-financial) feedback and reports to all areas of the business
*Provide minimum monthly performance (financial and non-financial) feedback and reports to Finance stakeholders (for example, Financial Control, the link to Group Management)
*Produce minimum quarterly forecast/plan predictions balancing challenge, support and clear sign-off
*Express forecasts and plans against the context of risks and mitigation's to inform the business and Risk Team within Financial Control
*Develops or signs off investment proposals relating to this business area
*Responsible for finance review of Investment Proposals for their business area
*Recommends strategies balancing resource levels with customer service output/quality, including for negotiation with external suppliers
*Signs off pricing for external suppliers
*Approves recruitment decisions within the context of budget affordability

Key Skill Requirements Essential
*Must have a demonstrable track record of adding value within a commercially focused finance role.
*Must have strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to identify key issues, create clarity and insight and provide effective support and challenge to senior customers and stakeholders.
*Must have a strong commercial mind-set that is able to identify business risks and drive action to mitigate these
*Membership of a Professional Accounting Institute (ACA/ACCA/CIMA (Associate Chartered Accountant/Association of Chartered Certified Accountants/Chartered Institute of Management Accountants).
*Ability to plan, determine priorities and deliver the accountability's of the role. Desirable
*Knowledge of finance systems so as to be able to deliver the above and contribute to and when nominated lead, finance systems changes
*Knowledge of business process design and strategy development so as to be able to best target advice, challenge and support
*Expertise in Retail Energy Markets together with knowledge of Wholesale Energy Markets and Industry regulations
