An exciting contract has arisen for an experienced Software Engineer to work for a leading Automotive Consultancy. Candidates will have proven experience of Software development using Autocode generation, Powertrain experience and use of Matlab/Simulink.

A superb long-term contract opportunity has for an experienced Software Engineer to work for a leading Automotive Consultancy.

The requirement exists to take customer requirements using DOORS as to how they want the Software to function and to then role out the Software implementation using Matlab/Simulink & Targetlink.

Ideal candidates will have worked in the Automotive sector previously.

Skills:

- Software requirements capture using DOORS
- Model-based software development using Matlab/Simulink
- Real Time systems
- function implementation using TargetLink and/or Embedded Coder,
- unit testing (MIL/SIL)
- HiL testing
- Automotive/Commercial vehicles background

Personal Attributes

Must have:

- Degree qualified (Science or Engineering) with a minimum of 3 years' industry experience
- Software development experience in an automotive environment
- An ability to work under pressure within tight timescales, independently as well as within multi-disciplinary teams
- Familiarity of the software development V-Cycle
- Good working knowledge of the tools - MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded Coder

Desirable:

- Experience of powertrain (transmission, engine, e-machines) controls development; application, integration and/or calibration would be particularly valuable
- A track record of product development within the automotive industry, ideally from prototyping to volume production
- A degree of flexibility and a willingness to travel abroad (for short periods of time)
- Experience of test rig development as well as in-vehicle experience (commissioning, problem solving, calibration)
- Knowledge of functional safety (the ISO26262 standard), OBD and diagnostic functions
- Familiarity with the tools - DOORS, MANTIS, SVN, CANape, INCA, CANalyzer

Job Description

A key and integral member of the Transmission Controls and Calibration team, responsible for the delivery of highly innovative challenging programmes from prototyping through to volume production. Will involve customer interaction, requirements capture, design, development, test and calibration of software.

Key Responsibilities

- Liaising directly with the customer to understand their requirements
- Definition of system, architecture and feature level requirements
- Contribution to the software development, test and calibration plans
- Setting task milestones and supporting the team in the delivery of projects
- Taking the lead on small programmes, where appropriate
- Software development (MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded Coder), testing (MiL, SiL and HiL)
