Financial Accountant - Microsoft Excel, SAGE, SAP, TM1, Baan, ACA, ACCA, CIMA
A Financial Accountant with Microsoft Excel, SAGE, SAP, TM1, Baan, ACA, ACCA, CIMA experience/qualification is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Preston.
An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant - Central Finance.
The Accounting team provide financial support to the many overseas branches and companies across the world that are required in support of contracts managed by our clients businesses.
Overview of the Financial Accountant contract role
The team are responsible for preparation of full management accounts for these entities, group reporting, tax packs, statutory accounts, liaison with external audit, group legal and tax. The team are also responsible for ensuring robust financial controls are in place and adhered to.
Key skills required for the Financial Accountant
As an Overseas Financial Accountant, your main responsibilities will be:
- Input of purchase invoices, sales invoices and journals onto the SAGE system on a daily basis
- Monthly reporting of the financials of the overseas entities to Head Office using the Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system.
- Exposure to VAT including monthly preparation of the VAT returns
- Preparation of IBP/Budgets for the overseas entities working with the in country managers and providing the appropriate level of challenge.
- Liaising with other parts of the MAI business, head office and in country personnel.
- Ensuring that there are key financial controls in place including the preparation of balance sheet review packs and reconciliations.
- Ensuring local compliance with the FPM, FCF and OAS across the overseas entities.
- Management of the export credit insurance process.
As an Overseas Financial Accountant your skills and experience will ideally include:
- ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified or part qualified
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong communication skills, with experience of dealing with a variety of stakeholders at different levels in the organisation
- Experience of ERP systems is essential, with knowledge of SAGE, SAP, Baan and TM1 beneficial
The role is based in Preston, Lancashire - commutable from Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds
