In coming years, it is necessary to renew large parts of the railway signalling systems in Norway, so we'll be facing with many exciting challenges with the optimization of existing facilities and installing new systems. Rail is now working on plans to introduce the new European signalling standard system - ERTMS. You will be part of the organization that will manage and direct the engineering efforts towards implementation of this new system of standards.

We are looking for experienced Signaling Engineers with specialization in design, construction or maintenance of rail network.

As a Signaling Engineer you will have hands on delivery of technical challenges provided by a wide range of signalling related projects, and undertake or independently check complex detailed signalling design work.

Main task and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing/construction/maintenance of infrastructure assets including signals, train stops, track circuits, train detection systems, point operation and detection systems, traction (electrical current) return arrangements, vital interlocking systems, SCADA/telemetry systems, and active level crossings
  • Testing and commissioning new signalling systems
  • Maintaining signalling and associated supporting systems
  • Report production & scheme plan design

Skills and requirements:

  • University degree in Signaling Engineering
  • Several years of experience in Signaling Engineering with particular emphasis on the design/construction/maintenance of railway infrastructure
  • Expert knowledge of the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS)
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Initiative and leadership skills
  • Excellent analytical thinking skills and strong attention to detail
