Description
In coming years, it is necessary to renew large parts of the railway signalling systems in Norway, so we'll be facing with many exciting challenges with the optimization of existing facilities and installing new systems. Rail is now working on plans to introduce the new European signalling standard system - ERTMS. You will be part of the organization that will manage and direct the engineering efforts towards implementation of this new system of standards.
We are looking for an experienced Signaling Consultant with expert knowledge of the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) Integration that would be engaged in a large implementation project of the ERTMS on the Norwegian railway network.
Main task and responsibilities:
- Responsible for system integration of the new ERTMS railway signalling system on the Norwegian railway network with surrounding railway command, control and signalling systems
- Establish and execute an integration project communication plan
- Creating, organizing and supervising all integration tests related to the signalling, communications and tunnel systems
- Submit project deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards
- Direct or coordinate activities of personnel within a test team
- Contact with different suppliers and internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends
Skills and requirements:
- University degree in Engineering
- Expert knowledge of the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) Integration
- Expert field knowledge of signalling system commissioning in the railway industry
- Expert knowledge of Systems Engineering
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Initiative and leadership skills
- Excellent analytical thinking skills and strong attention to detail
