Resource 1 is in need of an Oracle Exadata Database Administrator/DBA for a contract position in Chicago, IL (downtown). Contract extensions are very likely based on the current and up-coming projects. Individual should have at least 7 years of Oracle DBA experience, along with at least one Oracle Exadata implementation. Individual will be primarily responsible for working with the Oracle team, supporting their efforts from the client-side. Individual should have experience migrating Oracle EBS database to Exadata from other platforms (currently HPUX). There is currently a team of Database Administrators, supporting over 2 terabytes of data in a stable environment running Oracle EBS 12.1.3 on split tier (Oracle DB EE tier on HPUX 11.31 and Application tier on Oracle OEL 5.9). The selected individual should also have supporting both test and production databases, patching, capacity planning, performance tuning, cold/hot back-ups, storage (ASM), etc. Individual will potentially be involved with multiple upcoming projects related to the database department, which include database upgrades to 11.2.04), Oracle Applications customizations, database migration to Oracle RAC, and UTF8 character set conversion (to support the Chinese character set). The company has multiple locations supported by this team, however no travel is required. Experience with Oracle RAC is big pluses for this position.
