We are currently recruiting for a General Ledger Specialist to work within a leading financial company in Bracknell.

You will be responsible for conducting accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and report preparation.

Duties & Skills

  • Journal preparation, uploading and posting into JDE
  • Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations monthly
  • Correct accounting for Fixed Assets, Prepayments & Accruals at month-end
  • Responsible for overhead analysis and reporting to budget holders
  • Assists with monthly and annual closings
  • Inter-company charges
  • Allocations of support function costs
  • Prepares KPI's for internal departments and other ad hoc reports to strict deadline
  • Developing good working relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, SSC standards and SLA's
  • Recognise and communicate potential issues/risks with team
  • Assist with internal and external audit
  • Adhere to strict Matrix approval procedure
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of organizational structure
  • Assess the risks and work in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refuse to undertake work that compromises your safety or health.
  • Report in a timely manner all incidents including near miss and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns with your line manager.

Essential criteria

  • 2 years finance/business related job experience
  • Experience of working with foreign currencies
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages, Excel, Word etc
  • Excellent customer service skills across multiple locations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Industry or shared service experience
  • Fluency in written & oral English.
  • Team Player
  • Ideally Part Qualified CIMA or ACCA
