Windows server 2012/support/3rd line/HP/Powershell/Hyper-V

We are currently looking for a strong Windows Support Engineer who can manage1,800 physical and virtual Windows Servers, hosting applications and databases located in global datacentres. You will be part of a team that handles all server-related requests and incidents raised by other support teams.

Activities:
*3rd line support of Windows Server environments (2012R2 and 2008R2);
*Providing overnight on-call support on a rota basis;
*Maintaining full documentation of systems, fault resolutions, and incident investigations;
*Testing new software releases, patches and upgrades;
*Liaising with other technical support teams
*Liaising with development groups to ensure standards are adhered to;
*Deliver resources for projects to provision new physical and virtual Servers.

Essential skills technical skills:
*In-depth knowledge of Windows Server environments (2012R2 and 2008R2);
*Several years of experience in a large multiple Data Centre environment;
*Certified on Server 2012R2 and/or relevant parts of the System Center Suite (SCOM, SCCM, SCVMM);
*PowerShell;
*HP ProLiant hardware;
*HP SIM.

Desirable skills:
*Experience with server virtualisation (Hyper-V) and MS SCVMM;
*Good knowledge of the Microsoft Service Centre products;
*Good understanding of SAN and other enterprise storage technologies;
*Good understanding of security standards and best practices;
*Experience of ensuring conformity to regulatory compliance standards (SOX etc.);
*Capacity and performance monitoring/management;
*Good understanding of disaster recovery and BCP techniques;
