Senior Network Engineer
6 month contract
Dublin 15 with some travel

We currently require the expertise of an experienced Network Engineer to support a number of customers of a large multinational.
The network candidate will be responsible for analysing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of network infrastructure and application components.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support, design, setup and configure complex switching environments. wireless networks. routing environments. complex security environments.
Assist in the design of multi-server environments.
Configuring and installing client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems.
Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.

TECHNICAL SKILLS/ABILITIES
Maintain and update network documentation, network drawings and plans.
Experience in the areas of Cisco Nexus 7k, 5k and 2k, Internet routing and load balancing would be a bonus.
Must have hands-on experience configuring Routers, Switches, load-balancers etc.
Must have hands-on experience with the following Firewalls: Cisco ASA, Juniper, Check Point
Must have proficient knowledge of common routing protocols, including but not limited to OSPF, EIGRP, IGRP, OSPF, BGP, RIP v1, RIP v2 and MPLS.
Prior experience with managing Spanning-tree, HSRP, and VRRP
Solid understanding of TCP/IP network protocols, including common application protocols.
Knowledge of all common Layer 7 protocols, including Telnet, SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, NTP, and DNS
Solid understanding of HA protocols and network-based Data Center failover techniques.
Prior experience with network security

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must hold a valid driver's license with no restrictions and possess reliable transportation.
Willingness to travel on occasion
Must be able to participate on an on-call team roster system for out of hours support.
Must hold an active CCNP certification
Cisco CCIE certification would be a bonus, but not required
