Site Design Engineer - Telecoms/Civil/Construction

Description

As the Site Design Engineer you will be required to undertake the following responsibilities:

Project Scope

• Review and approve proposals for updates to radio site towers, monopoles, antenna mounting structures, cabinets and electronics, to allow for improved/upgraded services
• Advise designers on option to optimize the site design to simplify and reduce the cost of civil work construction prior to submission to customer for approval
• Check site specific structural design analysis submitted by subcontractors base on the latest code requirements ensuring stability of the structure, also to avoid the redundant structural design
• Assess structural design consultants for their capability and capacity to provide technical evaluation and calculations, drawings and other aspects of the project to control and minimize the additional tower static calculation
• Support efforts to standardize and simplify the site design procedure, and get approval from customer, for minimize the cost of SE, and participate in the negotiation during the bidding of SE subcontract
• Review and approve the design and material list (BOQ, Bill of the Quantity) of the tower reinforcement, and minimize the construction cost of the tower reinforcement
• Meet with the customers and partner for clarification and optimized site solution
• Manage Survey & Design partners about plan, performance, quality etc.

General Responsibility

• Provide expert level advice and consultancy to Project Teams in the field of site design
• Ensure that site designs, construction and electrical standards and specifications are agreed with the customer prior to the start of the project
• Understand local conditions and tailor site designs to best match the local environment
• Guarantee minimal design to provide value engineered designs
• Review site specific designs as produced by the Design Consultancy and make recommendations to manage cost and simplify construction
• Provide hands on training for staff who will be attending Technical Site Surveys (TSS), reviewing drawings and approving designs
• Review and approve alternative materials proposed by suppliers and customers
• Assist the Design Consultancy to produce non standard solutions as required
• Ensure the site designs are in line with customers requirement and standard of the operation and maintenance.
• Ensure that site designs are compliant with local Health and Safety requirements
