Software Engineer, Windows, WiFi, 802.11, Edinburgh, 3 months, £40ph+
A Software Engineer is required for an initial three month contract to work on brand new product development for a innovative engineering company in Edinburgh. You'll be helping them develop a fully-functional Microsoft WiFi miniport driver for the company's product.
This contract is with a progressive company that is looking to change the way we use WiFi and other short range communication systems.
Your main responsibilities during the contract will be:
-Capture requirements for the miniport driver
-Deliver a fully functional, production quality WiFi miniport driver for Windows OS
-Integrate driver into the 802.11 framework and implement necessary IHV extensions to allow configuration of vendor specific parameters
The successful candidate will have experience with at least two of the following:
-Previous hands-on experience and thorough knowledge of WiFi driver development (802.11 miniport) and authentication methods
-Windows driver development, particularly for USB devices
-Knowledge of full WiFi protocol stack
-Experience with mac80211 driver development
-Experience with hostapd
