Summary

Research & Development of experimental innovative cyber security and forensics technologies.
Develop prototype/demonstrator Cyber security concepts in line with Clients Group Technology Roadmap and requirements.
Undertake operation Cyber security activities and specialist recommendation as required by the business
Develop close working relationship with other Client's Group Business Units, academia, and external research organisations to facilitate collaborative working projects.

Outline

The role is to assist a global team in the development, demonstration, and experimentation of innovative cyber security and forensics systems within a range of scenarios. This engineer will be required to provide R&D support to a broad range of cyber technology initiatives, evolving cyber security services and other diverse cyber risk management activities. 2 - 3 years experience in an applied/industry cyber security research position would be an advantage.

This engineer will have a significant role in providing continuity of Research Projects through the Clients GroupCyberIncubators.

The successful applicant will contribute to and lead research projects for Clients Group Innovations
The successful applicant will support the cyber security operations of the Clients Group as required
The successful applicant will work with diverse Government Agencies & Clients Group Innovations
Appropriate security checks will be required.
Main aims (expected results)
Execute, support, and lead identified research into Cyber security and forensics related activities
Undertake and support project proposals as required
Establish firm relationship with Clients Group Innovations Partners and Client Group divisions.

Requirements

A Cyber Security/Forensics Research Engineer with sound knowledge of the development and application of Cyber Security protocols and applications, risk assessment and attack detection. The incumbent will require at least a Bachelors degree, preferably a Masters degree or PhD in a relevant technical discipline; computer science, forensic computing, cyber security, electronic engineering, or information systems design. A significant understanding of systems, networking and communications technologies is a must, preferably from a security/forensics perspective. Additionally the successful candidate will require experience/knowledge in providing technical oversight of cyber security initiatives, risk assessment or implementation of security architectures. Previous knowledge and experience of big-data analytics, cyber attack detection, and malware analysis is beneficial. A background working with UK Government Agencies is advantageous.

The successful candidate will require experience in the following areas:

Computer Science & Information Systems Design
Systems Security design & Implementation.
Must be a well motivated team player.
Must be agile in their work ethic and able to manage time effectively.
Should be highly motivated in the field of cyber security/forensics and have good technical writing and presentation skills.

As required by Cyber Operations Team, provide specialist input to other Client Group InnovationsProjects
