Description
Our client, a prestigious London Borough Council, is looking for an experienced Interim Procurement/
Commissioning Officer, to support and complete a key tendering project whilst a permanent member of staff is recruited into the Council.
The authority has already begun tendering for a new Youth Services provider, the Lead Officer on the project has been re-deployed and their work needs to be continued and finished with minimal interruption or disruption to the process. Tight deadlines are involved so it's vital that the successful individual can hit the ground running, roll their sleeves up and do whatever is required to get the job done.
Project deliverables:
. Manage and complete the tendering process.
. Stimulate further interest and sell the opportunity to a wider market through local marketing activity.
. Deal with and action enquiries and support requests from local providers.
. Communicate with suppliers and provide quality reporting to the project sponsor.
Skills & Experience Required:
. Commissioning experience within Local Government, Children's and Youth Services.
. Experience of managing stakeholder relationships at a Senior Management level.
. Experience of producing reports to a very high standard.
. Practical experience of completing successful procurement/tendering projects
. Public facing experience and an understanding of managing the suppliers and providing feedback to originations involved in the process.
