EAI Applications Specialist - SAP PI (large well-known global company) - London/Berlin

This role is working for a London IT consultancy, working for their client (a global, well-known company). A lot of time will also be in Berlin for this role. You must be flexible around this.

Purpose of the job

The Specialist EAI Applications provides functional and technical expertise to global application support and maintenance as well as to local or international projects.

The Specialist is responsible for advising, maintaining and managing EAI applications. As subject matter expert, s/he develops and maintains the company's strategic EAI solutions together with external support with a special focus on SAP PI and integration into Back End systems.

Qualifications & Functional Knowledge

2 to 5 years IT system development and maintenance experience with special focus on SAP PI

PI 7.31 Dual Stack with ccBPM (or similar) - excellent

SAP communications - ABAP proxies, Idocs, RFC (or similar) - excellent

Network protocols (SFTP, JMS, SOAP, ) and security (PGP, SSH, Firewalls ) - excellent

Java development - professional

ABAP development - basics

SQL database, SQL and stored procedures - basics

Business processes and data models in SAP HR, SAP SD/MM, SAP FI/CO, SAP PP - basics

SAP BRM or BRF+ - preferable

SAP PO 7.4/7.5 - preferable

TIBCO EMS/Business Events - preferable

Strong analytical, moderation and presentation skills.

Key responsibilities and challenges

Design & Build of IS Applications (70%)

  • Prepare and conduct workshops with the Specialists Business Processes and business to specify business requirements and discuss potential application solutions following the business and IS strategy
  • Estimation of development effort based on a defined methodology
  • Write and review of technical designs and documentation
  • Implementing PI integration scenarios
    • Contribute to the integration and involvement of all functions and 3rd parties, which need to contribute to the development for solution implementation
    • Support integration tests
    • Facilitate the integration between projects and support
    • Review test reports of projects before systems are taken over into maintenance

Run IS Applications (20%)

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external customers
  • Assure timely resolution of major incidents
  • Ensure to meet the SLA to the business for the assigned tasks
  • Identify improvement potential in operations, suggest improvements and enhance the support and the support processes
  • Provide content support in 3rd party negotiations/agreements
  • Define and contribute to the definition and implementation of support models
  • Assures legal compliance of the Application portfolio
  • Contributes in the development of governance tools and procedures/processes

Innovation (10%)

  • Contribute to innovative solutions and services of IS Applications
  • Develops Business cases and drives Continuous improvement of the Applications portfolio

This is a 3 month rolling contract with expected duration of at least 12-18 months
