Position: Database and System Administrator

DBA General Tasks
• Install, Upgrade, Create, and Administer Oracle database 10g, 11g
• Managing Oracle on Different Platforms: Windows, Linux (Red hat), UNIX (HP-UX)
• Planning the database and Configure the database for an application.
• Work on both DSS and OLTP database environments.
• Checking ALERT logs for unknown errors and troubleshooting the same.
• Moving Data using (Export/Import, Data Pump).
• Storage options used: File System, ASM.
Database Backup and Recovery Tasks
• Plan and implement backup and recovery strategy using RMAN.
• Restoration of successfully backups to test the data & to estimate time lines for restorations.
• Audit and follow up on Daily, Weekly Cold, and Hot backups.
Database Availability Tasks
• Oracle Real Application cluster (RAC) 10g.
Database Performance Tasks
• Monitoring and Tuning database performance.
• Setting up the AWR for gathering the Applications performance data.
Database Security Tasks
• Creation of Users, Roles and grant Privileges to users according to the bank policy.

  • Monitor and maintain Oracle iAS server.
  • Install release, updates and core banking application components delivered by BANKS vendor.
System Administration Tasks:
  • Design, implement and execute HP-UX backup routines.
  • Regular check for the file system.
  • Regular check for syslog and other log files for errors.
  • Physical check and analyze LED/LCD error codes on systems.
  • Schedule jobs for automated daily and monthly processes.
  • Monitor user processes and trim the unwanted processes.
  • Quickly arrange repair for hardware in occasion of hardware failure.

Backup and Storage Administration Tasks:
  • Monitor and manage EMC Symmetrix DMX3 through Symmetrix Management Console.
  • Monitor and manage CISCO SAN switches.
  • Implement, execute and monitor NETWORKER backup and recovery tasks.
VMWare Administration Tasks:
  • Managed Virtualization Environment using VMWare ESXi 5.5
  • Installation, Configuration, Administration and Troubleshooting of ESXi 5.5
