Mainframe Batch Scheduling & Operations (UC4/Automic)

Job summary and responsibilities:

• UC4 scheduling, Creation of new objects (Job, Jobplan, Calendar, Schedule, Events, Include, Call operator etc) in UC4 and responsible for any production changes in UC4.
• Responsible for the Mainframe batch processing and online systems and also ensure all the pre-scheduled IPLs, backups and changes are successfully done as per the agreed SLA.
• Excellent Proficiency in TSO, JCL, ISPF/SDSF commands, JES2/JES3 commands, CA7 monitoring and Scheduling
• Responsible for the MVS health checks. (Spool space, initiators, answering system requests, uptime of CICS regions, started tasks and databases checks, MVS capping, MVS load analysis, handling MVS Printers)
• Responsible for the system backup cycles for all platforms (NT, UNIX, AS400 and Mainframe)
• Cross platform exposure (UNIX, AIX, SOLARIS, WINDOWS, Tivoli, and Mainframe) through the use of various tools and applications.
• Change Management: JCL migration, Program migration, process/parmlib migration, Adhoc Jobs submission, SAS migration and Table base migration. Change Management reviews, documentations and risk analysis before implementing important changes in production.
• AS400/iSeries operations (Mainly system Health checks and backup jobs handling)
• Wintel Backup Jobs handling
• Efficient exception handling, to ensure service is resumed within acceptable timescales, to service level and with the appropriate level of communication through a handover report and process checklists.
• To ensure all the agreed Production schedules and services are maintained, and that all processing services complete in line with the Service Level Agreements and maintaining SharePoint documentations for knowledge repository.
• Successfully done 3 on-site projects in Germany & Belgium
• CA-7 project for Allianz UK (MVS batch job handling, scheduling/restarting and fixing of JCLs)
