International Partnerships Manager

WRAP

WRAP is a leading sustainability NGO working internationally across a network of Plastics
Pacts, Food Waste Agreements, and Textiles Initiatives to create a world where resources
are used sustainably. As an International Partnerships Manager, I lead on WRAP's
strategic global engagement on circularity within plastics, food, and textiles. Partnerships
are established to be locally driven and locally led, integrating local cultures, customs,
and knowledge into initiatives to ensure success and support.

My roles and responsibilities are summarised below:

* responsible for developing WRAP's global work with international partners
across the world to support a just transition to a circular economy for plastics,
textiles, and food,
* Government Relationships Manager within the European Plastics Pact (EURPP)
o Engagement and relationship management with EURPP signatories,
o Lead Government Roundtable meetings,
* strategic support on a project developing Plastic Solutions within Senegal,
* led on strategic partnership with the World Economic Forum's Global Plastic
Action Partnership (GPAP),
o Managed internal project team and relationship with stakeholders,
o Developed and delivered upon agreed workplan,
o Negotiated funding (including contracts/deliverables),
o Acted as external strategic lead and focal point for the multiple Plastic
Action Partnerships (Ghana, Pakistan, Maharashtra (India), Viet Nam,
Indonesia, Nigeria, Mexico City),
o Facilitated, created, and delivered, capacity building sessions with local
partners (for example on stakeholder engagement, introduction to
plastics, behaviour change, activating task forces etc.) to increase
knowledge and enable local delivery of sustainability initiative,
o Represented WRAP and GPAP internationally,
o Engaged with FCDO, local, and international governments within
Plastic Action Partnership countries.
* partnership lead for Phase 2 of an FCDO funded project on Food Loss & Waste
in the UAE, to develop a water footprint tool. This project includes engagement
with FCDO Abu Dhabi, local partner support & technical partner management,
* internal thematic lead for Global Team for Extended Producer Responsibility
(EPR) and Policy,
o partner and delivery lead for Accelerating EPR Knowledge series:
facilitating and sharing EPR best practice between Pacts in UK, Chile,
South Africa and India,
* partnership lead for global Textiles activity, including partnership scoping,
development, and management,
o development of Textiles Action Network growth plan and value
proposition,
o partnership lead for Denmark Voluntary sector initiative,




o establishment of formal partnerships (MoU) with Business for Social
Responsibility (BSR) & Sustainable Textiles Switzerland 2030 (STS2030)
o represented WRAP at STS2030 'Future Forum' to introduce Circular
Business Models
* identifying and presenting business development opportunities to the relevant
Boards, considering the risks, benefits, costs, and time commitments etc.

This role requires excellent interpersonal skills as well as strategic and analytical acumen
within an international and multi-stakeholder environment.

Student Recruitment Regional Manager (China & East Asia)

A strategic and high-profile role, I was responsible for leading the planning and
implementation of the College's student recruitment and marketing activities in China,
Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. In this role I:

* managed a large portfolio of external relationships with Higher Education Agent
Partners, International and local-curriculum schools, diplomats (including the
Chinese Embassy), and the British Council,
* managed a priority partner in France - a key European market for the College,
* identified and developed new recruitment-enhancing partnerships as well as
providing strategic guidance and operational support to the College's wider
strategic partnerships in China,
* acted as recruitment-partnership liaison for a priority partner within China
(Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, NUAA),
* developed, monitored, and reported on targeted international marketing
strategies and recruitment activity in the region,
* managed a portfolio of International HE Agent Partners and other stakeholders
to deliver results,
* planned and delivered a series of successful international virtual recruitment
events to maximise reach and impact despite restrictions on travel,
* in line with the College's new 3-year strategy, led the growth of an international
China-based recruitment team, providing ongoing line management and
strategic support.

This role required strong leadership skills and flexibility, as well as excellent organisation
and communication skills. Interpersonal skills were also essential to develop and
maintain important stakeholder and partner relationships. Finally - it demanded energy
and enthusiasm, and a responsiveness to changes throughout the sector.

International Relations Officer

Imperial College
A fast-paced and dynamic science diplomacy and partnerships position within the Higher
Education sector. My responsibilities and role included:

* developing and implementing international Academic and Research partnerships (including i.e. MoUs, Articulation Agreements, Dual Degrees, research collaborations, study abroad exchanges etc.),
* managing key strategic relationships in Europe & Alliances and The Americas,
* acting as the regional lead for Chile, Nicaragua, and Brazil, leading on developing partnerships and strategic engagement within these countries,

* working as Programme Manager for the Imperial Global Science Policy Forum
-a series of high-profile science diplomacy networking events bringing together
researchers, industry partners, diplomats, and Imperial senior leadership
o responsible for all aspects of the development and delivery of this
Forum, including marketing, logistics, event planning and execution,
drafting promotional materials and managing important internal and
external stakeholder relationships,
o developing and maintaining relationships with FCDO Science &
Innovation Network (SIN) contacts,
o developing and maintaining links with UK-based foreign embassies,

* drafting briefings, and opportunity analyses for senior management.


The role required a proactive and flexible approach, as well as excellent communication,
interpersonal, project management and diplomatic skills.

EU Negotiations Coordination Lead

An EU Exit policy officer role within the Overseas Territories Directorate. I was
responsible for ensuring that the UK's Overseas Territories were represented in the EU Exit negotiations, and that their concerns were accounted for. My responsibilities
included:

* careful internal and external stakeholder management, including with other
government departments (particularly DFID, DEXEU and HMT) and official
government representatives from the Overseas Territories,

* producing Ministerial Submissions, responses to Parliamentary Questions (PQs),
sections of Select Committee papers, cross-Whitehall Business Cases, and EU
Exit Strategy and Negotiation proposals,

* conducting analyses and writing reports within my specific policy areas

* leading for, and representing, the FCO at relevant cross-Whitehall meetings and
in Brussels,

* developing and maintaining professional relationships,

* supporting the wider Overseas Territories Directorate and FCO colleagues with
cross-cutting issues.

In addition to my Policy Officer role, I was elected onto the FCO Women's Network
committee as an Events Officer where I organised events aimed at supporting FCO
colleagues who identified as female with their careers.

The role was dynamic and required strong time-management, negotiating and
diplomacy skills, as well as excellent drafting skills and political acumen.
