Java and Python backend developer in Rome, four years on banking and wealth-management software. I keep a production LLM chatbot running for an asset manager and build my own agent tooling at home. Remote from Rome (CET) on Italian partita IVA, for UK, EU and US clients.

I'm a backend developer with four years on banking and wealth-management platforms, at Armundia Group in Rome since October 2022. The work is regulated (MiFID II), so correctness and change control matter more than speed.
Day to day I write Java: Java 8 and 17, Jakarta EE on JBoss EAP and WildFly, JAX-RS and SOAP services (contract-first, WSDL before code), Hibernate and JPA over PostgreSQL, Maven multi-module builds, Docker, Linux. Spring Boot on side projects. React with Redux when the front end needs me.
Since early 2025 I've also been the sole maintainer of a Python chatbot, an LLM advisory assistant for a large Italian asset manager: Flask, MongoDB, Anthropic models on AWS Bedrock, OpenAI. I inherited the service and I run it. I added a retrieval step that asks the model which document types a question is about, ran two model migrations behind feature flags, fixed a batch of reported vulnerabilities (a CSP configured from the database, an auth gate on the admin API), rewrote the Docker build to get under the registry's layer limit, and have cut thirty-six releases with their Mongo migrations. I also keep the nightly document-ingestion job alive.
For the same client I took over a Java reporting microservice on WildFly three weeks after a colleague scaffolded it, and wrote most of what it does: the data processing, the Aspose document rendering and the report templates. I moved it from javax to jakarta on the way.
On the main platform I helped with the Java 8 to 17 and JBoss EAP 7.4 to WildFly 28 upgrade, javax to jakarta included.
Domain: MiFID II client profiling and suitability questionnaires, ESG checks, investment proposal workflows, benchmark performance across currencies, internationalisation across banking subsidiaries, production support on live banking environments.
At home I run a Raspberry Pi with my own multi-agent tooling on Claude Code: MCP servers over PostgreSQL, hooks and skills, an adversarial review pipeline, Postgres with pgvector, Home Assistant, WireGuard. Anthropic's two MCP certificates, July 2026.
English and Italian fluent (fourteen years in Italy), Bulgarian native.
Remote from Rome (CET), invoicing through an Italian partita IVA. UK, EU and US clients welcome.

Project history
Since early 2025 I've been the sole maintainer of an LLM chatbot that a large Italian asset manager uses for advisory work: Python and Flask on MongoDB, Anthropic models through AWS Bedrock and OpenAI. The chat endpoint and the provider routing were there before me. What I added: a retrieval step that asks the model which document types a question is about, two model migrations behind feature flags so they could be rolled back, the fixes for a batch of reported vulnerabilities (a Content-Security-Policy configured from the database, an auth gate on the admin API), and two rewrites of the Docker build, the second to get under the registry's per-layer limit. Thirty-six releases so far, each with its MongoDB migrations.
For the same client, January to April 2025, I took over a small Java reporting service on WildFly three weeks after a colleague scaffolded it and wrote the part that does the work: the data processing, the Aspose document rendering and the report templates. I moved it from javax to jakarta on the way.
I work on a wealth-management platform that private banks use for MiFID client profiling, suitability checks and investment proposals. Most of my time goes into the Java backend: JPA and Hibernate over PostgreSQL, JAX-RS and SOAP services, and the reporting that turns all of it into PDF and Excel. I designed one SOAP service from the WSDL up, a benchmark-performance calculation that has to get multiple currencies right. I also helped move the Luxembourg instance from Java 8 and JBoss EAP 7.4 to Java 17 and WildFly 28, javax to jakarta included, and set up its Docker build. The platform runs in several countries and languages, so i18n is everyday work, and so is production support on live banking systems under change control.
