I specialise in the translation of documents in two main fields, ? marketing, and ?‍⚕️ medicine / clinical trials / clinical research. I'm an English native speaker based in the UK.

?‍⚕️MEDICAL TRANSLATION

I've seen enough letters from Ethics Committees to know that translation can be a major headache for sponsors and CROs. Inaccuracy, poor wording, and failure to adapt to the cultural and regulatory context of the country in question can result in serious delays. I'm here to help.

I gained my skills in the clinical trials field in an in-house position at a German company that specialises in these areas only. The end clients were some of the top CROs (Contract Research Organisations) in Germany, and indeed in Europe. I translated documents about clinical trials all day, every day. I also had training in the principles of GCP (Good Clinical Practice).

The text types that I translate in the field of clinical trials include:

• ICF (Informed Consent Form)

• PIL (Patient Information Leaflet)

• SPC / SmPC (Summary of Product Characteristics)

• Medical reports / discharge reports / surgery reports

• Communications between EC (Ethics Committee) and the Sponsor / CRO

?MARKETING TRANSLATION

I help my clients find their voice in English, which opens up new sales avenues for them. I help luxury brands convey luxury, I help spas convey indulgence, and I help hotels convey an "at your service" attitude. A marketing translation or transcreation should never sound "translated" - that's why I put readability and *persuasion* first. Are you cheaper than an agency / large LSP?

I am not an agency. Translations ordered from me are done by me personally, or very occasionally by a trusted colleague if it's the opposite direction (i.e. into German or French). If you have any questions or concerns, you get straight to the decision maker (me!), saving you time and stress. And yes, most of the time, I'm cheaper because most agencies have large margins. But there are some agencies who are cheaper than me. Pro tip: if the agency you are looking at charges you €0.10 per word, they will pay their freelancers significantly less - bad for quality!
