* Developing and testing SAP functions associated with purchasing, inventory
management, storage, and materials resource planning for engineering
department
* Identify system and non-system related problems that impact on the
effectiveness of sales, distribution, production, and production planning
* Ensure that identified problems on the SAP system relevant to sales,
distribution, production, and production planning are attended to as soon
as possible with the minimum impact on actual production
* Evaluate current business and SAP processes to determine their
effectiveness and impact on sales, distribution, and production
* Setting up of meetings, taking minutes of meeting, updating any system and
non-system problems with the relevant managers and team members
immediately
* Ensure that all relevant team members and managers are kept up to date on
progress with problem resolution on the project
* Ensure compliance to all company and SAP security policies, procedures,
and standards
* Ensure that all key tasks related to SAP sales, distribution, material
management and production planning are completed as per set requirements
and standards
Project Manager:
* Implementation and Support - MM Module
* Implement processes and procedures (SOPS) for Trident Steel stores in
Roodekop, Alrode (Jhb), PE, Kwa Zulu Natal, and Cape Town
* Training and support of Buyers (Procurement - SAP Purchase Orders, Running
of MRP's (for generating of automatic Purchase Orders)
* Ensure that key-user acceptance testing is completed on time for new SAP
business releases. Compiling of Manuals and blueprints for SAP Processes
Master Data:
* Identify and resolve issues after migrating from Pragma to SAP - major
issues identified -
* Cleaning up of master data to improve business processes efficiency by
delivering reliable master data to operational systems - focusing on
duplications, material descriptions, material Grouping, Unit of Measures,
MRP types, reorder points, stock levels, pricing etc.
* Define Data Requirements including data definitions, validations, data
cleansing rules, exception handling rules for MRO (Maintenance Repair and
Operation) Materials and Chart of Accounts Master Data Management etc.
* Review requirements with users and stakeholders and obtain signoffs.
* Incorrect quantities on SAP (heading the entire project of sorting all
issues in stores across the provinces reconciling, balancing of physical
stock to SAP Stock investigating, material movements etc. making the
decisions to write off, issue transfer (adjust stock levels)
* Introducing a system to ensure that stores runs effectively and
efficiently - planning of store layout, storage locations, storage bins
etc.
* Introducing, Implementing and testing of SAP MRP Planning (Material
Requirement Planning) integrating maintenance activities - SAP Plant
Maintenance - taking into account critical spares list, safety stock,
min/max levels, supplier lead times, build bill of materials (BOMs) for
critical equipment, preventative maintenance etc.
* Run material requirement planning (MRP) and let purchasing perform
inventory replenishment to ensure parts are available when needed
* Improve the company's overall performance by ensuring plant maintenance is
linked to purchasing, inventory and finance - Training, providing
guidelines to store controllers to perform regular inventory counting,
with emphasis on accuracy of information
* Communicating, discussing, and collecting of data with departmental heads,
technical staff the way forward in reaching the goals of the company i.e.
successful implementation of MRP System to efficiently work, automatic
creation of Purchase Orders. Training and support of Store Controllers
* Ensuring store controllers understand their roles in stores:
* Performing goods movement (MIGO) for spares or stock received and issued
* Issuing of stock with Reservation Numbers
* Training and Implementing Stock Transfer using SAP STO process - all
provinces
* Creating of Purchase Requisitions
* Physical Inventory - putting together process for stock counts
* Introducing Cycle Counting for fast moving and high
* value stock marking all materials that are to be included in cycle counts
in material master records (storage data). Periodic Stock Counts
