Skills

For six (6) years, I worked as an Assistant Programs Officer at The Hunger Project-Uganda (THP), an International humanitarian program focusing on ending extreme hunger and poverty using a holistic approach. While there, I perfected skills including training and community mobilization, Designing and developing comprehensive packages for capacity development activities. In these, I would develop a training module based on a standard message we needed to pass on, focusing on any of the 5 core programmatic areas. Thereafter, I would use different forum to mobilise the community members, set dates, train, conduct an evaluation then submit activity reports, as well as routine weekly, monthly and quarterly reports. I was also tasked with building networks and benchmarking with other NGOs and district line departments in order to reduce task duplication, improve value and keep up-to-date on industrial best practices. There were various incidences of conflict resolution and negotiations in such partnership and in the communities, and was working under minimum supervision.

At Mbarara University of Science and Technology, I graduated into curriculum development, as well as developing teaching aides and other training materials, especially for teaching undergraduate students and cross cultural exchange students. I gradually joined the research agenda and I am Proficient in conducting research in human subjects, currently I am Mentoring, coaching undergraduates in research, focusing on implementation science in health systems strengthening.  I am proficient at Grant writing, research protocols, and reporting, and for all the time I have been in this position, I have always worked under minimum supervision, and delivered timely results.

I am a good team player, task oriented, self-motivated and strongly believe that there is no task too small, therefore I employ my wit and intellect to achieve every task allocated. I communicate effectively and timey, and I adjust quickly to new challenges
