In the dynamic realm of cloud computing and software engineering, I've carved a niche as a Cloud DevOps Engineer, bringing over three years of robust experience and a passion for innovation.
My foray into the tech world began at Plus Administratie en Belastingadvies, where I played a pivotal role in developing a CRM solution on the Azure cloud platform. Here, I delved deep into Azure DevOps, managing CI/CD pipelines and harnessing Terraform for infrastructure. This role underscored the importance of reliability and security in cloud solutions.
My stint at Netcompany further honed my expertise. I was at the forefront of migrating applications for Stichting Participatiefonds to Azure. My approach was always cloud-centric, ensuring peak performance. A testament to my efforts was achieving a remarkable 99.96% uptime within three months, surpassing our Service Level Agreement.
At Capgemini, my roles were multifaceted. From building landing zones for cloud providers to front-end engineering for Digipoort, the Dutch government's IT center, I embraced challenges head-on. As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Digipoort, I rebuilt portals for governmental messaging, balancing technical prowess with regulatory compliance.
Now, with Eneco Energy Trade, I'm revolutionizing the CI/CD pipeline in Azure DevOps for Apache NiFi. My recent project involved an ETL process for energy bids, emphasizing system reliability and swift problem resolution.
Beyond technical roles, I've been an avid knowledge sharer, conducting workshops at TU Delft on Kubernetes, Azure, and Docker. My academic foundation, a BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from Delft University of Technology, coupled with my SAFe DevOps (2022) certification, underscores my commitment to continuous learning.
Outside the tech sphere, I'm a vibrant individual, passionate about salsa and bachata dancing, music, and literature. These pursuits allow me to connect, express, and unwind.
In essence, my diverse experience, coupled with my fervor for technology and continuous growth, positions me uniquely in the Cloud DevOps landscape. I'm geared up for future challenges, confident in delivering excellence in every endeavor.

Project history
Capgemini is a large organization that offers a diverse range of services to clients, often requiring
customized infrastructure solutions. Unfortunately, this sometimes leads to duplicated work in
developing bespoke solutions for different clients. To overcome this challenge, Capgemini initiated a
project to introduce landing zones for the leading cloud providers.
Berkhan, a Microsoft Azure Cloud Engineer at Capgemini, has taken on the responsibility of building
the landing zone for Microsoft Azure. Along with his team, Berkhan is developing prebuilt modules that
can be effortlessly deployed in clients' environments while strictly adhering to security and privacy
standards. To simplify the infrastructure deployment process, Berkhan has employed Azure Bicep to
construct these prebuilt modules. Additionally, the deployment process is automated using Azure
pipelines, which ensures that the deployment process is consistent and reliable across different
environments. By automating the deployment process, Berkhan and his team can reduce the potential
for errors, save time, and increase the organization's efficiency. With these prebuilt modules and
automation, the landing zone can standardize the infrastructure deployment process and enhance
Capgemini's overall productivity, saving time and cost in developing custom infrastructure solutions for
clients.

Digipoort is the Dutch government's IT center where governmental message traffic is processed,
functioning as a sort of electronic post office for the government. Every message that passes through
Digipoort is thoroughly checked for message-specific requirements, validity, and security to ensure
that only authorized and legitimate communications are transmitted. In addition to handling the
electronic communication between various governmental institutions, Digipoort is also responsible for
maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of these communications.
Berkhan, a member of the Portal team, is responsible for rebuilding existing portals used for
messaging between governmental instances such as the Dutch Tax Administration and Chamber of
Commerce. As a Front-End Engineer, he employs React to parse large formspecs and generate
message-specific forms for users to fill in. In his role as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), he builds
multi-project CI/CD pipelines and sets up metric collection and visualization to monitor the
performance of the services running in his project. He also works to ensure that the portals are secure
and that they maintain the privacy and confidentiality of the communications they handle, aligning
with the standards and regulations that Digipoort is required to follow.

Stichting Participatiefonds, an organization assisting in the re-integration process of employees in the
education sector, migrated their applications to Azure cloud. To meet the Service Level Agreement of
99.95% uptime, Netcompany was responsible for the migration. However, they migrated the
infrastructure without taking advantage of cloud-native solutions.
To resolve this, Berkhan, an Azure Cloud Engineer, proposed and implemented a solution utilizing
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to handle the base load and Azure Container Instances for burstable
capacity, resulting in a reduced number of nodes required in the Kubernetes Cluster. Berkhan also
migrated the MySQL databases running on Virtual Machines to Azure's managed version of MariaDB,
resulting in a reduction of time spent on database maintenance.
Furthermore, Berkhan recommended the use of Infrastructure as Code tools like Ansible and Terraform
for provisioning and configuring the infrastructure. To automate the automatic starting and stopping of
the non-production environments, Berkhan wrote PowerShell scripts. The scripts were executed on a
schedule using Azure runbooks.
He also implemented Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, incorporating quality checks using SonarQube to
ensure that all infrastructure deployments adhere to the highest standards.
Berkhan's efforts resulted in the applications achieving a 99.96% uptime after the first three months of
implementation, exceeding the Service Level Agreement requirements.
