NN Group, one of the leading insurance companies in the Netherlands has contracted me to exercise my expertise in infrastructure and cloud transformation projects.
During this assignment I have focused on migrating NN Group’s Windows Server and Red Hat Linux virtual machines from an on-prem infrastructure based on VMware vSphere 5.5, Netapp C-Mode Metro-Cluster, PowerEdge rack servers and Cisco networking towards a private cloud environment hosted on IBM Cloud based on VMware vSphere 6.7, Stretched VSAN 6.7 clusters, VROPS 7, Log Insight, NSX 6.4, VEEAM Backup and Replication and IBM Endurance storage.
After the completion of migration activities, I have delivered a redesign of the VMware hyper-converged clusters aiming to improve the VMware environment stability, performance and reduce the infrastructure costs. I have also worked on creating custom vRealize Operations dashboards aimed at delivering operational and management SLA based reports in the areas of infrastructure capacity, availability and performance. I have also delivered a new design for a high performance storage solution based on Netap Ontap Select 9.5 and have been involved in other projects related to optimizing some of NN’s most critical application services. In addition to my engineering and design work, I have been occasionally involved in operations activities such as 3rd level support and problem solving of the VMware environment but also of Microsoft Failover Clusters, SQL Clusters and Windows Server 2016.

Provided design and troubleshooting counseling to HCL Technologies who has been tasked to deliver a migration project for the end client NXP Semiconductors. I have provided counseling in regards to the migration methodology, risk analysis and technical challenges for migrating ESXi hypervisors, Windows Server and Linux virtual machines and vCenter servers across datacenters. Additionally, I have been tasked and delivered the following:
