I'm David Ulloa, a curious and driven individual passionate about learning, creating, and helping others grow. Whether I’m working hands-on with technology, diving into health and wellness, or exploring new cultures through travel, I bring energy, clarity, and a desire to master what I do.
What I Do Best:
  • Problem Solver & Learner: I thrive when I'm learning something new, whether it's how to improve a process, understand human behavior, or tinker with something mechanical.
  • Tech & DIY Enthusiast: I enjoy figuring out how things work—especially when it comes to cars, gadgets, and setting up systems myself. I take pride in turning knowledge into action.
  • Health & Performance Focused: From nutrition and fitness to mental strength, I believe in optimizing both body and mind. I stay up-to-date on practical ways to stay strong, energized, and sharp.
  • Clear Communicator: Whether in writing or conversation, I’m known for breaking things down in a way that’s approachable and honest.
A Few More Things About Me:
  • I enjoy helping others solve real-life challenges—from finding better meals to gaining muscle, or navigating unexpected events with practical thinking.
  • I'm bilingual and multicultural, proud of my roots and always curious about other cultures—especially when I travel.
  • I stay grounded, but I’m always reaching for better—more knowledge, more impact, and more growth.
Let’s connect and build something valuable.

Project history

Cell Identity Transition Research Assistant

University of California Riverside
Exploring molecular and cellular basis of cell identity transition. Converting temporal signals into stable genetic circuits involving feedforward and feedback control of gene activation. Using PCR, DNA extraction, spectrophotometry, gel electrophoresis, and FTIR for research.

Volunteer

GeissMed Hospice
Volunteering at elderly homes and shelters, providing care, conversation, and companionship to hospice residents.

Treasurer

Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity
Managed annual budget of $20,000, maintained accurate recordkeeping, created financial reports, and implemented cost-saving strategies to improve financial stability.

Protein Aggregation Research Assistant

University of California Riverside
Used HEK293T cell line to prepare for mass spectrometry-based proteomics to probe molecular aspects of proteostasis. Utilized cell culturing, silver staining, Western blot, transfection, and HPLC techniques.

Sergeant at Arms

Associated Students of UCR
Maintained order during council meetings, ensuring productive dialogue and enforcing rules of conduct to support efficient decision-making.

Lifeguard

Cedar Fair Entertainment
LSA Certified with emergency training including CPR certification, AED, BLS and the Heimlich maneuver. Maintained a safe area for swimmers.

Legumes and Nitrogen Levels Research

University Project
Studied effect of nitrogen levels on legumes. Tested surrounding areas of soil using nitrogen test strips. Found positive correlation between nitrogen levels and number of legumes.

Butterfly Research Project

University Project
Studied the pieris rapae butterfly to determine if latitude affects the appearance of Cu2 spot and apex melanization. Gathered and analyzed data from various countries and latitudes.

Fish Fraud Research Project

University Project
Analyzed DNA of salmon and tilapia to determine if they were mislabeled in supermarkets. Used DNA barcoding of the 16S ribosomal gene for identification.
