I have 20+ years of experience in DSP software development in audio and speech signals processing domains. I've been working as remote consultant for past 10 years.
Scope of work:
 - Porting existing algorithms from matlab or float point C models to fixed and float point DSP processors (Motorola, QDSP, CSR, HIFIx, several proprietary DSPs).
- DSP algorithms development and enhacements
- I had a chance to work with most of audio/speech processing related algorithms - vocoders, echo cancellers (line and acoustic), noise suppression (single microphone and microphone arrays), voice activity detection and etc.
- Industries I worked in: cellular phones infrastructure, cell phones, headphones and hearing aid devices.
Particular skills:
- C and assembly, somewhat limited experience in C++
- Matlab, somwehat limited experience in Python
- version control: GIT, clear case, perforce
- unix development environment: make/cmake, scripts

Project history

Staff DSP software engineer

GN Hearing
C/assembler implemention of variouse hearing aid algorithms (like frequency lowering) for custom DSP
chip.

Staff DSP software engineer

Jabra (GN Audio)
I work as independent contractor performing my duties from home office in St Petersburg, Russia.

* Port various audio processing algorithms - mainly noise suppression using multi microphone
arrays - from C and Matlab float point models to Kalimba (arch4) fixed point DSP processor.

Staff DSP software engineer. (consultant)

Audience Inc ( part of Knowles Inc. )
I worked as independent contractor performing my duties from home office in St Petersburg, Russia.

* I leaded the newly hired team in India to help them to rump up with company's product
(algorithm), software development cycle, testing practices and etc.
* Took part in porting existing solution to different platforms like ARM, X86 and QDSP Soc
Snapdragon.
* Key click suppression algorithm development and implementation. Algorithm was done based
on neural network. My contribution was in algorithm development, improving network training
technics, optimized implementation for x86 platform.
* Test kits development for QDSP SoC to verify the ability to run our solution in the chain with
other threads.

Staff DSP software engineer

Audience Inc ( part of Knowles Inc. )
Port proprietary noise suppression, echo suppression other speech enhancement algorithms from float
point model to fixed point and float point custom DSP chips. Coding been done on assembly, C and C++
languages. Matlab was heavily used as float point model.

iDEN DSP subscriber group.

DSP software engineer E08

Voice/audio processing for iDEN (integrated dispatch enhanced network - TDMA

based system includes cellular phone and trunc radio functionality) mobile phones.

* NLMS based echo canceller - C/assembler implementation for StarCore
DSP. Participate in new acoustic echo canceller algorithm evaluation and implementation for
speakerphone - C/assembler for StarCore DSP.

* Noise suppressor - C/assembler implementation for StarCore DSP.
* Voice activity detector - C/assembler implementation for StarCore DSP.
* Sampling rate converter - C float point model and C/assembler implementation for StarCore
DSP and ARM11.
* Speaker phone algorithm - I leaded the efforts in fixing the problems in existing
implementation on DSP566xx, evaluation the new algorithm.
* Code optimization by utilizing co-processor in DSP566xx.

DSP software engineer E08

Motorola Arlington Heights
DSP group - data and voice processing in 3G CDMA cellular phone system.

* Selectable mode vocoder (SMV) - decoder development for StarCore DSP
on C and assembly.

* Common math library ( log, exp, sqrt, random generators, filters and etc) and common
vocoder's functions (LPC analysis, LPC to/from LSP conversion) development for StarCore DSP
chip. Assembly and C.
* Echo cancellor algorithm improvement.
* DSP assembler code development for Motorola's DSP566xx for multiprocessor boards.
* Multitask embedded software.
* Problem debugging in system labs.
* UNIX development environment.

Software engineer III.
