Project history
Designed a 4-layer STM32F411 embedded hardware platform in KiCad for current-signature acquisition research targeting industrial predictive maintenance and automotive diagnostic applications. Applied IPC-2221A guidelines, impedance-controlled USB differential routing, and EMC/SI best practices. Developed bare-metal C firmware achieving 664 Hz timestamped acquisition through USB CDC communication and 16-bit ADC current tracking. Validated board-level performance through systematic testing and statistical analysis.
Led the hardware design of a custom ESP32-C3 mixed-signal PCB for a low-power smart plant node. Engineered the complete hardware platform including RF integration, battery charging and protection, power management, environmental sensing, external flash memory, and supporting circuitry. Performed component selection, schematic capture, multilayer PCB layout, signal integrity optimization, antenna matching network design, and DFM refinement. Collaborated with the data science team to integrate cloud-based and AI monitoring workflows.
Implemented a complete 16-bit Von Neumann architecture computer from elementary NAND gates. Designed and implemented the CPU, ALU, internal registers, dedicated memory buses, instruction decoder, and execution datapath using HDL simulation. Developed a custom two-pass assembler in C to translate a 16-instruction ISA into machine code and engineered a stack-based virtual machine translator verified via nand2tetris simulation frameworks.
