Most industrial hardware projects don't fail because of bad ideas — they fail because the PCB, the firmware, and the control system were built by different teams who never aligned on DFM constraints, interrupt latency, or OPC UA tag structure at the same time.
EdgeForge Labs exists to close that gap.
We are an electronics engineering consultancy specializing in end-to-end intelligent hardware systems for industrial and product environments. Our work spans the full stack: schematic capture and PCB layout in KiCad (DFM-optimized for series production), embedded firmware in C/C++ on STM32 and ESP32, IIoT connectivity via OPC UA, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET — and where performance demands it — TinyML inference deployed directly on the microcontroller.
What EdgeForge Labs delivers:
- PCB Design & Hardware Development
From concept to manufacturable design: schematic capture, PCB layout (impedance-controlled, DFM-ready), BOM optimization with component availability checks, and production bring-up. We design for series production from day one — DRC-clean Gerbers, no surprises at the fab.
- Embedded Firmware (STM32 · ESP32 · FreeRTOS)
C/C++ firmware on STM32 (HAL/LL/FreeRTOS) and ESP32 (ESP-IDF/Arduino). Firmware that survives field deployment: watchdog-hardened state machines, safe OTA update pipelines, and communication stacks for BLE, MQTT, LoRaWAN, and OPC UA.
- IIoT & SCADA Modernization
We connect legacy PLC infrastructure (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider) to modern IT systems via OPC UA, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET. High-availability SCADA architectures, redundant control schemes, and real-time monitoring dashboards following ASM (Abnormal Situation Management) standards.
- TinyML & Edge Intelligence
ML inference directly on STM32 and ESP32 — no cloud dependency, millisecond latency. Predictive maintenance, real-time anomaly detection, and neural control systems. Full pipeline: dataset preparation, model training in Python, int8 quantization, and deployment in optimized C++ firmware.
Our standard: every deliverable is production-oriented. We identify risks early, document clearly, and propose solutions before you have to ask.

Project history
Founded EdgeForge Labs as a specialized electronics engineering consultancy. Lead all technical and commercial operations: PCB design in KiCad (schematic capture, DFM-optimized layout, Gerber/BOM/CPL for JLCPCB and PCBWay production), embedded firmware in C/C++ on STM32 (HAL/LL/FreeRTOS) and ESP32 (ESP-IDF), IoT connectivity via BLE, MQTT, LoRaWAN, and OPC UA, and TinyML model deployment on constrained microcontrollers. Clients served across IoT product development, industrial automation, and IIoT/SCADA modernization sectors. All projects delivered with 5-star ratings on Upwork.
Two-contract engagement for a US-based hardware startup. First contract: KiCad PCB revision of an existing board — component migration, DRC-clean layout, and complete Gerber/BOM/CPL fabrication package for JLCPCB production. Second contract: multi-factory BOM validation — quote collection from multiple contract manufacturers, component cross-referencing, supply chain risk assessment, and production-ready documentation package. Both contracts delivered on schedule and received 5-star ratings with Endorsed badge from client.
Firmware development for RP2040 microcontroller. Designed and implemented a serial communication framing protocol: byte-stream parsing, frame synchronization, checksum validation, and error recovery logic for reliable field deployment. Delivered clean, documented C firmware with test coverage. 5-star rating, Endorsed badge, client noted detail orientation and regular check-ins as key strengths.
