This was an inventory processing system consisting of 38 modules. The Team comprises of 6 people. I
am one of them responsible for the activities such as Maintenance, Enhancements, and Production
support. I was involved in Maintenance & Enhancements activities including modification of the
existing application programs as per the User requirement by preparing the LLD (low level design)
and proceed till testing following CMM level 5 standards. In this project, I was involved in
developing programs in COBOL II and data is stored from backend DB2 database and IDMS database
applications. I was involved in coding COBOLII (CICS) programs to interact relationally and
networking thru Schemas and Sub Schemas. I was involved in full SDLC starting from Requirement
analysis, to Business specifications, Software requirements, Program Specs, Coding and Unit testing
and subsequent turnover to QA to roll out production. The system was in OS/390-MVS operating system.

This was a PAYROLL maintenance Mainframe project, comprising of both batch and CICS applications. I
was involved in developing code for the service requests which involved calculation logic for the
health care insurance covered employees. This was calculated on the SSN primary key index accessing.
The team size is # 4 which includes a DBA. I was also involved in COBOL II application development
for this system. I did Sorting of files thru DFSORT.I have written JCLs for these modules and was
responsible for creation of test plans and unit testing. I have used Expeditor as a debugging tool
for Batch Programs and Interest for CICS programs. All these programs were residing in Panvalet
library. And also I was involved in COBOL application development for this system. . INFO-MAN was
used to track abended jobs and to provide resolutions for production support and also to enter time
sheet. PANVALET was used for software configuration management. FILE AID was used to edit VSAM
files. CA-7 was used to schedule the JOBs. The system was in OS/390 MVS operating system.

True Value is a major hardware manufacturing and selling company in U.S with numerous outlets called

Regional Distribution Centers, RDCs .True Value has merged with another company called Servistar.
This created a need for re-engineering the existing software. I was involved in Code changes to the
COBOLII applications converting the flat files to include DB2 table declarations. I was involved in
JCL re-engineering process, which is to standardize all JCLs and PROCs in all the cycles. I used
file aid and Comparex to test the programs using both old data and new data for the old programs and
new programs and documented the results. VIASOFT SMARTTEST to debug application programs, CHANGEMAN
was used for software configuration management. DCLGEN, QMF, SPUFI were used for DB2 database
maintenance. FILE AID was used to edit flat files. IEBGENER, IDCAMS and REPRO for VSAM files. I have
coded, tested, created test JCLs for batch programs and also coded and debugged CICS programs using
INTERTEST. The operating system, which I was working in this project, was ES 9000 MVS/ESA.
