Drive test/Optimization engineer

• Testing and validating positions based on radio conditions at customer’s end for installation of WIFI and MODEMS.
• Testing newly roll out antennae both outdoor and indoor for the coverage, radio conditions, SNR, throughput, latency to ascertain customer satisfaction and to see if the key KPIs are met
• Doing reports on network performance components and troubleshooting Network performance using nectAct and Osiris, problem detection such as throughput issues, latency, connection drops, and blocks to optimize the network and meet up with the customer’s demands
• reading and interpreting construction drawings for stadiums, conference halls and other building for indoor measurements and troubleshooting for optimisation
• Completing optimization techniques for optimal site/cluster performance (antenna selection, tilts, and neighbor list) in order to solve coverage and handover issues for better operability
• Doing random measurements to determine congested cells either with poor MOS or low throughput and decongest for better voice and data QoS
• Designing network testing scripts for voice, data, video and sms for company use and for sub-contractors working on the network for efficiency of results.
• Doing benchmarks QoS measurements using Nemo handy between all the operators in the country in voice, data, video and sms, using the reports done with SMAQ to propose improvement on the Orange Network and also for the commercial to advertise our business
• Taking customer complains concerning voice and data, doing drive test and deep investigation to know the root cause of the problems while bring out the action plan for immediate or long-term correction
• Participating in network planning sessions using Atoll and google earth for designing and choosing positions for better dimensioning of the network
• analyzing drive tests reports, KPIs and provide recommendations for improvement of network performance

* Tested and put on air over 700 2G/3G/4G sites after doing an ssv and producing a functionality
report using Tems investigation, Tems discovery or Actix for acceptance
* Tested various technologies to improve DL such as Carrier aggregation(CA), MIMO 4x4, 64QAMS,
256QAM
* Was the team lead in the central and south regions by Partitioning work to other engineers and
collecting their daily reports, managing their difficulty technically and administrative wise
at field level and also training new drive test engineers how to do drive test ssv, cluster,
benchmarks and physical optimization

• Worked as a 2G/3G  drive tester in the MOSAIC Niger project by NOKIA/ORANGE NIGER by testing and rolling out of over 150 2G sites in the capital city and neighbouring towns
• Also trained newly recruited Drive test technicians on SSV, cluster drive, Benchmarking znd post processing
