Good day,
I saw your post for the translation work and I found it to be very interesting. I am a professional translator and interpreter active in the language industry for the last 23 years both as a translator, interpreter and, English teacher. My language pairs are Spanish to English and English to Spanish. I was raised in the US in Huntington Beach California where I lived for 37 years.
I have been living in Colombia S.A. for the last 21 years where I have refined my language skills in Spanish. During this time I have done numerous projects including the translation of three books concerning child mining in this country for an NGO who were presenting this Project before the UN. I also worked as a translator and interpreter for a law firm in Barranquilla for 6 years and I also had the opportunity to translate an autobiography as well as various technical (mechanical) translations and several web page projects. I have recently completed a lengthy project for the European Union concerning regulations for Spain with topics such as Labor laws, Pollution measures, Maritime law, Health, and Safety issues to name just a few. I can average between 3000 to 5000 words per day and my rates are very reasonable.
The turnaround time for any Project always depends on the length, topic, and urgency of the document. After the document is completed it goes through an extensive spell check and grammar review before being proofread, edited, and formatted. I have also had 2 interpretation projects for the Jimmy Carter Foundation (Habitat for Humanity). My work ethic is quality first followed by prompt turnaround time. My fields of expertise are; financial, legal, marketing, commercial, technical, literary, educational, web pages, and clinical translations.
