Project history
When I worked as a business analyst some of my
responsibilities were:
* Researching on various energy markets
* Accessing various data sources and designing the ETL
processes
* Acting as an intermediary between traders and
developers in designing and guiding business application
development
* Gather requirements and then create business design
documents for different projects
* Lead project planning among other scrum tasks such as
sprint planning
* Do Quality Assurance tests on projects in their different
stages of development
Some of the detailed activities included:
I. Complete real time integration of the UK primary power
data provider called Elexon. This is the main data
source used for real time trading in the Uk market. This
data includes power demand, supply, outages,
balancing actions etc. I did detailed study of the every
aspect of the data sent out, documented on how to
apply the data to our trading tools and managed the
developers to implementing the integration.
II. I did analysis of the Irish power market with the aim of
profiting of correct imbalance pricing prediction while
participating in intraday continuous market trading. To
this end I used python scripting, excel for front end
chart displays, postgres sql database for storage of data
and tableau & Alteryx for in depth granular
understanding of the market.
III. Integration of ENTOSE, a pan European power data
collection platform was required for domestic UK short
term trading as well as for cross border trading into the
continent such as France, Netherlands, Belgium. To this
end I accomplished a detailed study of the data
available, investigated the api through which the data
was to be absorbed, mapped out how the data would be
transformed into fitting the existing systems and how
the data was to be saved in the database. Managing the
project to completion.
IV. Integration of capacity market, JAO and of Nomination
sites such as RNP, Britned was necessary for electronic
confirmation of power flows between different
countries. As the requirements I successfully
investigated the data sources, mapped out the process
of integration , transformation and storage. Feeding the
data to the greater trading software
V. Integration of trading market platforms such as
Nordpool and EEX. The traded volume and pricing was
crucial in being to understand the exact positions
traded over a long period of time.
VI. Development of a complete new application that would
send alerts if traded volumes did not match capacity or
nominations. For this purpose I was the lead on
designing, documenting, managing the project to build
the system that automatically sent varying levels of
alerts depending on the thresholds of differences.

Cobblestone Energy is a UK based company, that specializes in
Energy trading. During the first 8 months of my working with
Cobblestone, I was part of the trading team that traded Uk,
Ireland and European power including markets such as Day
Ahead, Intraday and Cross Border. During that time I had also
the responsibility of researching different ETRMS such as LCP
Enact and Enappsys before concluding that our inhouse tools
were better suited for our trading strategies.

I developed a web system using ASP.NET technology for the
car bond company, named Haks. In the
course of the project here are some of the tasks that I did for
them:
* Gathered requirements
* Designed the system
* Programmed the application
* Deployed it to a web server
This application greatly reduced the cost previously being
incurred by the client from using a paid service
