service in 2006, Western Union was the best-known U.S. company in the business of
exchanging telegrams.
Western Union has several divisions, with products such as person-to-person money transfer, money
orders, business payments and commercial services. They offered standard
"Cablegrams", as well as more cheerful products such as Candy grams, Dolly grams,
and Melody grams.

Project Description COGNIZANT provides 24X7 services for DB2 DBA and UNIX DBA competency completely
from offshore for Western Union.

Responsibilities
* Design and Creating Database Objects
* Database Administration, Production Support and Maintenance
* Developing In-house Tools
* Loading and Unloading of Table Space
* Reorganization of Table space
* Collecting Statistics using run stats.
* Resetting Pending status using check Data utility
* Performing Health checks for production databases.
* Resolving Job abends.
* Refreshing the tables using the standalone utility Dsn1copy.
* Develop and execute appropriate Data Definition Language (DDL) to support projects.
* Production support for DBA jobs.
* Modified DB2 utility procedures for Reorg and Load to make them restart able.
* Worked on UTS conversion.
* Administrate our mainframe databases on a daily basis.
* Apply planned maintenance refreshes to support DB2 environments.
* Work with technical support teams to identify DB2 software related problems.
* Worked on Flash Disaster Recovery.
* Ability to maintain & support the DB2 subsystems in a RACF environment.
* Work closely with Operations and Automations teams in defining operational
procedures involving the DB2 subsystems.
* Provide technical recommendations involving the DB2 environments and tool upon
request.
* Worked on Zparm Changes, Bufferpool increase due to Performance Isues, Cleanup
Activities(e.g. DB2 ZPARM,GRANTS, BINDSetc.)
* Adding New Active logs, Increase the Size of Current Active Logs.
