▪ Providing support for Linux servers, which includes system administration, maintenance, troubleshooting and perform activity for permanent closure. ▪ Taking care of Incidents/Fault, Change Request generated in Remedy tool, within given SLA time. ▪ User administration- including setup and maintaining user account such as create/delete/modify user account, password and assigning permissions to files/directories as per business requirement. ▪ Giving customized permissions to the users/groups using Access Control Lists (ACL), SUID, GUID and Sticky bit. ▪ Managing file system includes – create/delete/extend/reduce disk partitions using LVM. ▪ Monitoring of disk space, system errors, memory and swap space utilization, disk performance, CPU, and processes. ▪ Configuration to share file system/disk space through NFS and SAMBA. ▪ Configuration and troubleshooting of network interfaces such as Ethernet devices, bonding, and analysis of network packets through tcpdump for troubleshooting. ▪ Creation and management of Swap Space as per server utilization. ▪ Configuration and troubleshooting of system security and services with Firewall. ▪ Job Scheduling and system tasks using AT/Cron/Anacron. ▪ Configuration of Apache HTTP web server including internet web server. ▪ Maintaining systems, verify that peripherals are working properly and quickly arrange vendors to repair/replace hardware in case of hardware failure.
