Project history
Unite is an international B2B networking platform (formerly known as Mercateo) selling hundreds of millions of articles in Europe and across the world.
I coordinated the creation of data products for the intersection of software engineering and data science teams using Apache Parquet and Avro on AWS and later Kafka, including initial visualizations using Tableau. Migrated a distributed monolith with 3 million lines of code to microservices in the cloud in order to enable building modern frontends and scale to the evergrowing customer base. Designed and implemented reusable CI/CD infrastructure on AWS using
Terraform and AWS CDK for my own and other software teams. Developed a React SPA with a GraphQL layer in-between the backend services which replaces the old backend rendered application for B2B customers as well
as SPA for company onboarding. Improved and automated various HR processes, especially for remote hiring
processes. Gave internal workshops and presentations for old and new colleagues about various topics such as frontend and backend architecture or CI/CD.
