As GPRS operation Engineer, I was able to perform the following actions:
* Study the feasibility and impact of all new configurations before implantation on live network
platforms
* PS Core Swap, from Siemens SGSN to Nokia SGSN
* Perform weekly backup for PS core network (SGSN, FNG, Flexi ISN, DNS and FW)
* Perform hardware expansions for SGSN (PAPU, ET16, SMMU, AS7 and RAM)
* Execute capacity extension on several frame relay BSCs, evolution from frame relay to IP BSCs and
the swap of BSCs from DX 200 SGSN to ATCA SGSN
* Perform MSS pooling (Gs interface) coordinating with NSS operations teams for several BSCs
* Implement new configurations on several different platforms (SGSN, GGSN, IP backbone...) from
different technologies (NSN, Ericsson, Cisco...) coordinating with Engineering teams
* Checking processes and performances in the packet switch core network after any critical
operation
* Monitoring the PS platforms on daily bases to early detect any anomaly in the network and act
quickly (Platforms: SGSN DX, SGSN ATCA, FlexiNGs, FlexiISN, and OneAAA)
* Investigating reported issue or discovered anomalies in the PS platform, troubleshoot until a
solution is found with the technology provider's support
* Report to the team leader all findings and actions requested by the support, status of
investigations and appointed tasks
