Project history
Deployment and configuration of LAN, Wi-Fi and WAN infrastructure on private yachts. Each engagement typically covers vendor-specific configuration (Kerio Control, Cisco, Peplink, Ubiquiti), Wi-Fi coverage tuning across decks and onboard areas, and integration of available uplinks — VSAT, Starlink (LEO), 4G/5G and shore Wi-Fi — into a coherent onboard network serving guests, crew and onboard systems.
Design and operation of monitoring infrastructure covering both network devices and systems across multiple environments. Typical stack combines Prometheus and/or InfluxDB + Telegraf as the metrics backend, Grafana for visualisation, SNMP polling for network equipment, and custom dashboards with alerting tailored per environment.
Built and operate a custom PLC monitoring platform on behalf of a maritime services company, delivering real-time telemetry of onboard systems across their yacht and sailboat clients. The platform ingests data from onboard PLCs via OPC UA and exposes operational metrics through Grafana dashboards, allowing the client's team to remotely monitor equipment behaviour and act before issues escalate. Includes ongoing maintenance, dashboard evolution and adaptation as new clients are onboarded.
