I am a Chemist (PhD in Organic Chemistry).
I am an adjunct professor teaching the Undergraduate Organic Chemistry Laboratory in the department of Chemistry at the University of Crete.
I also work as a research head chemist in a pilot plant for industrial manufacturing of biopolymers from food waste in the department of Agriculture at the Hellenic Mediterranean University.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
• 7 years of experience in Leading research projects and Laboratory Management.
• 6 years of Academic teaching experience; Academic Educator.
• First author of several scientific articles in peer reviewed international journals.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
• Organic synthesis, isolation and chemical characterization of materials.
• Nanotechnology and Carbon nanostructure chemistry (fullerenes, carbon nanotubes).
• Polymerization - Synthesis of Biodegradable polymers.
• Photochemical functionalization of carbon nanostructures with free radicals.
• Photocatalysis with metal complexes.
• Cultivation of microorganisms into industrial scale bioreactors
