The department focuses mainly on facilities for transport infrastructure and rail traffic. The business spans
the entire process from data collection (using their own vehicles equipped with data collection equipment)
to storage, processing, analysis, documentation and visualization. GIAM mainly use the Esri product
portfolio.
Peter's tasks have been product development (new tools for web based GIS-applications), project
management, requirements management, data analysis and documentation, database modelling, data
harmonization.

Common tasks are customer specific customization, new functionality, or solving so called "bugs". Hence
the processes are more similar to those of product development than of a traditional consulting business.
Communication with customers occurs daily, mostly through a case management system. A day can
consist of various tasks for different customers or a larger project.
