I am a senior Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (EI&C) Engineer and founder of EASCO, providing specialized engineering and technology solutions to industrial clients. With over 30 years of international experience, I combine deep engineering expertise with practical project leadership across the oil & gas, chemical, energy, pharmaceutical, renewable energy and process industries.
I have worked for and supported leading plant owners, EPC companies and technology providers including Shell, BP, Neste, Nobian, TotalEnergies, Avantium, Imerys, Worley, Yokogawa and Woodward. My experience covers the complete project lifecycle—from concept, FEED and detailed engineering through procurement, FAT/SAT, construction, commissioning, startup and operational support.
My core expertise includes Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, Industrial Automation, DCS/SIS/PLC systems, Functional Safety, rotating machinery control, commissioning and technical project leadership. I have extensive experience with Honeywell, Yokogawa, Emerson, Siemens, Schneider, ABB and other industrial automation technologies.
As a TÜV-certified Functional Safety Engineer, I work with IEC 61508/61511, HAZOP/LOPA, SIL classification and verification, Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS), Safety Instrumented Functions and Functional Safety Management. My expertise also extends to machinery safety, ATEX and OT cybersecurity.
Through EASCO, I can combine my own senior-level engineering and project management experience with a multidisciplinary network of specialists. This allows us to support both focused engineering assignments and larger projects requiring several disciplines.
EASCO capabilities
Electrical & Instrumentation: electrical distribution, SLDs, MCC/VFD systems, field instrumentation, specifications, datasheets, calculations, design reviews and vendor engineering.
Automation & Control: PLC/DCS/SIS architecture, Siemens S7/TIA Portal, control philosophy, Cause & Effect, control narratives, system integration, migration and FAT/SAT.
Functional Safety & OT: IEC 61508/61511, HAZOP/LOPA support, SIL verification, SRS, machinery safety and IEC 62443 cybersecurity.
Commissioning & Asset Support: commissioning procedures, troubleshooting, vendor supervision, system handover, reliability improvement and legacy-system upgrades.
Industrial AI & Digital Twin: development of physics-based and AI-assisted digital solutions for industrial equipment, condition monitoring, performance prediction, optimization and predictive maintenance.
I can support clients either as an independent senior consultant/lead engineer or assemble an EASCO engineering team around the project requirements.
My focus is straightforward: practical engineering, technically sound solutions, clear communication and reliable delivery.

Electrical and Instrument Senior Project Engineer

Imerys

Other

>10.000 team member

Served as the client-side engineering authority for a new greenfield carbon black production plant for Imerys, a world leader in mineral specialty solutions. Supervised the appointed engineering contractor, established the project design foundation, and directed early-stage electrical power and control system frameworks. My core responsibilities were included:
  • Design Basis & Concept: Defined the foundational Basis of Design (BOD) and authored/revised FEED-stage conceptual designs for electrical and automation systems.
  • Contractor Supervision: Supervised the engineering contractor's design activities to ensure compliance with client requirements, project timelines, and quality standards.
  • Document & Design Review: Led rigorous technical reviews of contractor deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Medium Voltage (MV) layouts, and power distribution architectures.
  • Equipment & Grid Specification: Approved engineering parameters for the utility grid interface, transformers, and VFD/DOL motor control configurations.
  • Scope Definition: Formulated and finalized detailed technical scopes of work for third-party automation contractors and process package suppliers.

Instrumentation Commissioning Senior Engineer

Neste

Energy, Water & Environment

5000-10.000 team member

Served within the maintenance department for Neste—the world’s largest producer of sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel—during the greenfield construction of a commercial biofuels plant. Functioned as the client-side instrumentation authority responsible for operational readiness, field troubleshooting, and coordinating the successful asset handover from the EPC contractor (Technip) to the operational maintenance team.
  • Commissioning Procedures: Authored, defined, and finalized formal commissioning procedures for all plant instrumentation and field control devices.
  • Vendor & Field Supervision: Supervised vendor specialists during equipment commissioning to verify execution quality and compliance with technical specifications.
  • Asset Handover Coordination: Led the instrumentation discipline's formal handover coordination from Technip to Neste, ensuring complete asset documentation transfer.
  • Troubleshooting & Resolution: Diagnosed and resolved complex instrumentation failures identified during commissioning, supporting the discovery team with root-cause analysis.
  • Reliability & Spare Parts: Conducted critical reliability analyses and formulated initial spare parts estimations to ensure long-term maintenance readiness post-startup.

Instrumentation & Automation Senior project Engineer

Nobian

Energy, Water & Environment

1000-5000 team member

Provided technical leadership for Nobian—a major European leader in industrial salt and essential chemicals—directing client-side I&C engineering across greenfield electrification (MVR) decarbonization projects and brownfield salt cavern expansions for brine production and hydrogen storage.
  • Engineering Supervision & Review: Supervised engineering consultants and led comprehensive technical reviews of design packages, including P&IDs, Cause & Effect matrixes, process control narratives, and safeguarding system architectures.
  • Contractor & CAPEX Management: Formulated detailed technical Scopes of Work (SOW) to govern external engineering firms and prepared precise project cost estimates for all instrumentation and control components.
  • Safety & Compliance Lifecycle: Served as the core I&C authority during HAZOP sessions and directed the review of Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS) alongside SIL classification and verification activities.
  • DCS Lifecycle Strategy: Defined technical migration strategies for upgrading end-of-life control networks, developing multiple DCS upgrade scenarios with commercial evaluations to guide executive decision-making.
  • Advanced Technology Deployment: Defined engineering specifications for the deployment of advanced frameworks, including Industry 4.0 initiatives, e-Flex grid-balancing networks, and ISA-106 procedural automation.
