OpenText ECM Consultant — Archive Center, Email Archiving (EOL/De-Archiving), Content Server, OTDS

Most consultants avoid the parts of the OpenText stack that are old, undocumented, or approaching end-of-life. I go looking for them. Archived email that nobody wants to touch, Content Server instances running on decade-old customizations, identity layers nobody fully mapped anymore — that's where I do my best work, because that's exactly where the risk (and the budget) sits.

6+ years hands-on with the OpenText stack: first as a consultant at OpenText, implementing Extended ECM for SAP and SuccessFactors across multiple client environments, then running production Content Server, Archive Center, Email Management and OTDS platforms for a European enterprise insurance group.

Archive Center / Archive Server (IXOS, OpenText Archive): administration, health checks, volume and storage migration (legacy 9.x/10.x to 16.x/20.x/cloud), SecKeys and certificates (ArchiveLink HTTP authentication), SSL/PKI (certtool, TLS hardening, certificate rollover), backup/restore validation, Document Pipeline (DocTools, batch import).

Email Archiving / Email Management (Microsoft Exchange & Microsoft 365): end-of-maintenance risk assessments (the product line has been in sustaining support since 2026), email de-archiving and mailbox restore (stub cleanup, PST export, restore to Exchange Online), journaling and monitoring bridge, retention and GDPR compliance audits, leaver and decommissioned-mailbox handling. Most recently built de-archiving and restore tooling for a large-scale production email archive.

Content Server (OTCS, Livelink): administration and troubleshooting, upgrades, WebReports / LiveReports, workflow design, OScript / CSIDE customization review, CS REST API integration, cloud readiness and de-customization audits, records management and retention.

Extended ECM (xECM): SAP integration (business workspaces, ArchiveLink), SuccessFactors (HR document management, employee file), OAuth 2.0 readiness audits (SuccessFactors Basic Auth deprecation). Multi-client implementation background from my time as an OpenText consultant.

OTDS (OpenText Directory Services): identity and authentication, partitions, resources and access roles, SAML SSO, Azure AD (Entra ID) / OIDC configuration, Content Server to OTDS migration support.

InfoArchive: application decommissioning planning and assessment, SIP/AIP ingestion, retention policies, compliance search — helping teams retire legacy applications without losing 10-30 years of retained data or audit trail.

14 OpenText certifications across the Content Management stack. I work remote-first, in fixed-scope audit and assessment formats (1-10 days) as well as longer advisory engagements. Available approximately 20 hours per week.
