Visual Artist; Illustrator; Photographer

Renato A. Assis was born in São Paulo/SP. He graduated with a degree in Visual Arts from UEL (Universidade Estadual de Londrina/PR). He took the Graphite/Colored Pencil/Artistic Anatomy course at the Pencil - School of Art of the master Sergio Russo and developed his photographic skills with the photographer, specialized in wildlife, Haroldo Palo Jr. through the course “Photography of Nature”. Since then, Renato has followed his studies in a self-taught way, taking as reference works of literature - such as Joseph Campbell and J. R. R. Tolkien -, works of visual arts - such as Alfons Mucha, Yoshitaka Amano and H. R. Giger -, and musical works - such as Loreena Mckennitt, Draconian and Therion.
Multifaceted, the artist has diversity as a mark of his personality: he dives in and has fun producing images of a childish nature, materializes the dark forms suggested by the horror classics that brighten romantic literature and gives vent to his own being by creating figures that are based on the archetypal beings of universal mythology.
