My name is Rigoberto Otaño Milián.
I am an Art Specialist and UX Designer based in Panama City. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Spanish Literature and Linguistics from the University of Havana and have been working since 2015 as an Art Specialist at NG Art Gallery, an emerging art gallery located in Panama City. Over the years, I have published articles on art in magazines such as Art OnCuba, Artecubano, and most recently in Art Nexus, the most important Latin American art magazine. I also taught classes for a year at LCI Panama, a university focused on creative industries. Recently, I received my Google's certification in User Experience Design and am currently transitioning into the field of UX design, writing, and research.
Why am I the right choice for this work?
My recent work as an Art Specialist and Art Writer keeps me up-to-date on everything happening in contemporary art, art market, and hot new artists around the world. I have written many artist profiles, exhibition reviews, and even some short stories. Additionally, I have been writing about art for about 10 years, mostly for specialized magazines. I have been also keeping up with the tech world, NFTs, generative art, investing, WEB 3.0, etc. and would love to put that knowledge to use through writing. Finally, even though my native language is Spanish, I am fluent in English (with a "sexy" Spanish accent included ;), so language won´t be a problem.
About me
I am a lifelong learner with a fierce passion for photography, art, and literature. I have a keen interest in finance and value investing, and have been honing my skills as a trader for the past couple of years. My reading list is a diverse mix of classic literature and contemporary thought-leaders, including favorites such as William Faulkner, J.L. Borges, Yuval Noah Harari, and Naval Ravikant. I am also an avid listener of The All-In Podcast and The Joe Rogan Experience, always on the lookout for new insights and inspiration.
