HELLA has developed a steering control module for electromechanical power steering that enables the demand-driven operation of the EPS, thereby increasing the vehicle’s fuel economy.
The construction basis of the module is a complex aluminum die-cast part. Besides its function as a mechanical basis, the part is a heat sink for power electronics.
One of my functions was to give the purchasing department technical help to increase the quality of the part while reducing the costs for it in running series. My team had members responsible for construction, purchasing, supplier quality, quality towards customer, calculation and more. Visits to and discussions with the suppliers were part of my duties.
Another task was to restructure the planning and steering of sample production and validation of new generations of about 50 EPS ECU variants. The samples had to be produced in the sample workshop or the series factory, partially under the involvement of the customer. Validation tests had to be performed with the samples. The longest tests ran up to four months.

WABCO is a world market leader for brake systems for commercial vehicles. As a leading project manager, I was responsible for the development of a new frame positioned ABS ECU for the customer SCANIA.
Besides ABS the ECU includes different other functionalities around brake and power train like electronic braking limitation and traction control.
Special challenges in this project were the extremely high-quality expectations of the customer SCANIA as well as the introduction of a new housing technology to WABCO development and manufacturing.
My area of responsibility included to discuss and agree on the customer requirements, development of hardware, software, and housing, supplier management, sample preparation, and delivery, testing as well as preparing the WABCO production up to the SOP.

WABCO is a world market leader for brake systems for commercial vehicles. As leading project manager, I was responsible for the development of a new braking system for medium-weight commercial vehicles including a cabin ABS ECU and an ESC for the customer IVECO.
Besides ABS the ABS ECU includes different other functionalities around brake and power train like electronic braking limitation and traction control.
Special challenges in this project were various adaptations to changing requirements of the customer IVECO as well as a very tight timing.
My area of responsibility included to discuss and agree on the customer requirements, development of hardware, software and housing, supplier management, sample preparation, and delivery, testing as well as preparing the WABCO production up to the SOP. I supported the IVECO SOP on-site in Brescia, Italy, as well.

Project management for ECUs for LED Headlights (Smart Power, Automotive), especially support while a new PjM reporting tool was introduced for the location and several projects (project management office tasks).
Development, test, and introduction of a new database supported planning tool for sample preparation and delivery for various projects.
