Senior Program Manager - Data & AI

My name is Salvatore Russo. I have worked for over 20 years in large corporations in the aerospace, energy, and banking industries on IT projects, with a strong focus on data. I now offer my services as a freelance consultant.

With my senior program manager offering specialized in Data & AI, I turn technology projects into operational successes thanks to my expertise in program management, data/AI, software development, and cybersecurity. I contribute during both scoping and execution phases to avoid unclear prioritizations, silos, technical roadblocks, delays, and cost overruns. Throughout the lifecycle of projects, I help ensure sound decision-making and collaboration across all business functions.

I bring three core skills:

• Program leadership and agile team management, with the ability to recover struggling projects.
• Deep knowledge of data/AI technologies.
• Cybersecurity, including governance and resilience, which I practiced at Société Générale.

My professional journey:

• began in 2003 at Airbus in Bremen, Germany, where I spent four years.
• I then joined Areva, where, after a few years, I became head of the team responsible for the 3D digital mock-up of the EPR and technical data management.
• In 2017, I joined Société Générale to lead Big Data projects for support functions (HR, referentials, third parties), and later managed a migration program for around one hundred applications from a legacy Big Data environment to a more modern platform. We worked in agile mode with DevOps practices (CI/CD).
• During my last two years at Société Générale, I was in charge of cybersecurity for all applications within my scope.

What drives me is solving complex data and IT challenges within companies, enabling them to improve their margins through technology.
