I authored the guidelines at the core of pharma mall's future IT strategy and was the leading voice on its architecture, engineering practices and team organisation, then co-presented the modernization case to its executives. It was our in-house alternative to an external consultancy's proposal for a multi-million-euro modernization.

The strategy stood on four pillars, all aimed at growing revenue and cutting cost:
• Domain-Driven Design
• Autonomous, cross-disciplinary teams
• Test-driven development (TDD) and automating developers' workbench
• Strategic use of AI

Highlights
• I proposed and pushed through the company-wide big-picture Event Storming, keeping its scope at the whole business against pushback. It put ~16 people from across the company in one room to map how it actually works.
• I was one of four who vetted the firms bidding to build the new system: I sat in on every interview, questioned each directly, and put real problems in front of them to see how they'd actually engineer it, not just pitch — and flagged critical gaps in the winning contract that were fixed before signing.

Recognition
• The shareholder representative leading the process called it "a very convincing story and strategy."

Software Architect | TDD, DDD & Craftsmanship

Good architecture emerges from the real problems a team hits and keeps evolving as they change; that's only possible if you can refactor without fear. So I treat a strong, decoupled test suite as the foundation of architecture itself, and I architect from inside the team, implementing my own designs where reality is the honest test of whether they hold up.

Highlights
• I authored the company's Test-Driven Development strategy: a ~9,000-word playbook making the case about sustainable TDD that actually helps refactoring (decoupled tests, not mock-heavy).
• I authored the technical architecture proposals and ADRs for the new system: DDD, event sourcing/CQRS and vertical slices argued as one integrated package, with the trade-offs written up, not just the benefits.
• To prove it, not just propose it, I built a runnable TDD-DDD-CQRS reference implementation: a CQRS/event-sourcing framework written from scratch, a Given/When/Then test DSL, a sub-second loop; and demoed it to the architecture board.
• I won the team lead over to both DDD and TDD; from barely knowing DDD to a committed practitioner and defender, and an even bigger turnaround on TDD.

Recognition
• The team lead, on the TDD strategy: "very well written."
• My 2025 management review noted me "experienced in modern practices (TDD)."

Developer Productivity Engineer

My work here was about developer productivity: making the everyday experience of building software something you don't have to fight. Developers were losing hours (sometimes days) getting their environment to run and coordinating across services, often skipping tests because it was too painful. So I built the tooling to make it zero-friction: fast to start, fast to get feedback from, and safe to run each other's work.

Highlights
• Onboarding took days — a fresh laptop needed SDKs, auth, certificates, Docker and a full local stack set up by hand. I built a one-command dev environment that reaches a running app in 10–30 minutes.
• Fast feedback on a legacy Java 8 stack is notoriously hard — the edit-run loop ran 2–8 minutes. I got it to a ~17-second change (and ~50s startup) by making true hot-reload "just work": a custom ARM-native DCEVM build of the JVM, two class-reloading agents, and a lot of fixing to make it reliable.
• Dozens of interdependent .NET repos forced constant version-juggling, and many developers wouldn't even test their work. I built a team-wide CLI for safe cross-repo sync, branch-switching and local testing — so running a teammate's code became normal.

Recognition
• Probation review: "an independently developed script that automated processes and eased colleagues' work… looks beyond his own scope and independently implements solutions." Became the team's go-to for "won't run locally."

The Head of IT handed me the hardest problem, a recurring production failure other teams had given up on after years of trying, because he trusted my analysis and fresh eyes. The stack, legacy Java/Jakarta-EE, was new to me after fifteen years in C#/.NET.

Highlights
• In well under a year I went from new to this stack to de-facto architect, both at once: deep hands-on production Java while setting the company's architecture and engineering practices.
• After the bug wouldn't reproduce locally, I built the visibility myself: a local ELK stack over ~a year of production logs from seven servers. The cause became obvious: nightly syncs timing out several times a month since early 2025, ~98% on one overloaded delete-by-query.
• I rewrote it as batched, retrying deletions behind a feature toggle, then enabled it in production myself and watched the failure rate fall.
• For that deeper problem, I built an exploratory "dry-sync" verifier so the internal teams that keep the shop up to date can see for themselves whether a change really landed.

Recognition
• The Head of IT, on the production-error work: "very cool."
• The architecture group found the ELK diagnostics useful and weighed folding them into our observability stack.

I joined the team migrating our B2B marketplace to a new .NET/C# commerce platform (Virto Commerce) and delivered across the whole stack: C#/.NET and GraphQL on the backend, Vue.js/TypeScript on the storefront.

Highlights
• A merged pull request upstream to the open-source platform (Virto Commerce): I generalized an internal helper into a reusable extension point for the platform, opened at the platform vendor's request, approved and released.
• When the team's code-review backlog had stalled for months, I stopped taking new tickets and focused only on reviews. Others followed, and we took back control of our merge-request backlog and cycle time; leading by example.
• The team had decided not to write any tests, a call I disagreed with. So I made the case in code: I built the first integration-test harness and landed the first green test, and through our retrospectives the team gradually recognised we should be writing them.
• Across the stack I delivered features end-to-end, most substantially the ~9-week, ~6-module flow that let existing offline B2B customers activate online accounts (C# token backend, GraphQL user-creation, Vue.js/TypeScript storefront), demoed at sprint review.

Recognition
• The platform vendor's own developer, on my merge requests: "I'm enjoying checking your MR, usually only cosmetic fixes are needed."

This was the most challenging and rewarding experience of my career. I’m grateful to have worked with such an exceptional team. The project was labeled “best software project” by a key executive stakeholder.

I joined a high-stakes initiative: a critical product with complex, evolving requirements and a tight deadline. I was brought in for three main areas—establishing an effective testing framework, supporting an event-driven architecture, and building the entire frontend.

We focused first on a testing approach centered on business scenarios, readable by both technical and non-technical teammates. We kept tests simple, clear, and decoupled from implementation details, so they stayed reliable even through major refactors.

In parallel, we aligned the architecture with business terminology and rules using Domain-Driven Design principles. Our biggest success was handing the application over to a new team without triggering the usual “rewrite everything” cycle: they quickly understood the solution and contributed efficiently. We also tackled performance challenges around data-intensive commands, measuring and optimizing SQL Server and other system bottlenecks.

Real feedback from the lead developer : "The test framework you created is really good, and it's simple to extend it".

I joined an existing team to help them finish and deliver the rewrite of a backend service for generating and dispatching orders.

To make sure the rewrite didn't introduce regressions I suggested we create a tool to test the system against the inputs and outputs of the previous version, this solution was approved and successfully allowed us to confidently deliver the rewrite.

After the delivery, I was tasked with identifying and implementing the automated testing strategy for the team. I wrote an acceptance testing framework that allowed us to write business scenarios as executable code which improved the whole development process.

Part of an Agile team with strong Domain Driven Design practices, creating an app in the smart energy domain. We used a Test-First Behaviour Driven process : at the start of every sprint, we had an Example Mapping session where executable business scenarios were written in collaboration with business experts that formed the contract for the sprint and stood as a living documentation for future reference.

Our team was in charge two apps, each focused on separate bounded context (DDD) : contract and planning. We had several Event Storming sessions with business experts to make sure we understood and were aligned with business processes. This formed the basis for our Event Sourced application.
