Most recently at Kamda S.A., I work as the lead Android developer on a golf learning platform. The app delivers video streaming via ExoPlayer, in-field GPS tracking, peer content sharing, and local data persistence for student progress. Over the past four years I have led a comprehensive modernization of the codebase: migrating from XML/MVP to 100% Jetpack Compose with MVVM, consolidating the project into a multi-module Clean Architecture, and replacing RxJava with Kotlin Coroutines and pure Dagger with Hilt. These efforts reduced feature development time by 40% and brought the crash-free session rate to 99.44%. I also introduced data encryption with SQLCipher and KeyStore management, integrated OpenID Connect via AppAuth, and took full ownership of the Play Store release process — monitoring ANR rates (0.01%) and startup performance across an active user base of 10,000 monthly users.
Prior to that, at Walletifai (Toronto), I contributed to a personal finance app that projected future expenses and automatically detected recurring bills and subscriptions. Beyond the engineering work — building reusable data visualization components for financial projections — I stepped into an interim team lead role, mentoring two junior developers and running code reviews that maintained zero critical production incidents over the engagement.
Earlier in my career I built an electricity consumption tracking platform at The Data Age in Nicaragua — a native Android app backed by geospatial data from GIS/GeoServer, serving an entire country's electrical network on MapBox Vector Tiles. I also worked on crop-data collection tooling for a government institute, and freelanced on a Flutter time-tracking app and a business directory, both delivered end-to-end. This range of domains has made me comfortable starting from a blank project or inheriting a legacy codebase, and working across Android, cross-platform, and backend layers when needed.

Project history
• Led all Android technical decisions, managed release process with full PlayStore ownership and provided on boarding and mentoring for new members by creating documentation of workflows, guidelines for PR discipline and performing code reviews.
• Migration from XML screens to Jetpack Compose at 100%. Executed code modernization effort, resulting in a decrease of 40% in feature development time and a reduction in app crashes.
• Architected and executed a migration from a single module to a multi-module approach. Implemented by following some Clean Architecture concepts and SOLID principles; this was a key point for allowing the migration of outer layers to most modern implementations.
• Partnered with backend, web and IDP teams to migrate Authentication flow to a new Auth system with an Identity Provider by using OpenID’s AppAuth lib to make sure OAuth and OpenID Connect standards.
• Improved security on local data and user session by implementing data encryption on local database using SQLCipher and KeyStore management.
• Introduced unit testing with Mockito and JUnit for some inner modules with a test coverage of 90%.
• Modernized the build system by migrating from Groovy Gradle to Kotlin DSL with version catalogs, improving dependency management and build script reliability.
• Led app performance metrics monitoring: crash free session at 99.44%, ANR at 0.01%, and start up 1.125-1.250 ms, all along with app size by taking care of optimizations with ProGuard and R8.
• Acted as an interim team lead, mentoring two junior developers on best practices and conducting code reviews to ensure code quality improving workflow that allowed us to deliver more features and fixes.
• Engineered complex reusable data visualization components using the Victory Native library to display financial projections and graphs.
