Thorntail Replacement (2023–2025)
DCC faced delivery, financial, and governance risks during the peak of its €30m GBCS programme to upgrade SMETS2 across the UK. Engaged as Assistant Programme Manager across 10 interdependent projects, with responsibility for planning, risk, cost, change, and governance. Built the master delivery plan; supported 3 PMs; led supplier risk management; managed change and cost control. Successfully restored programme control and predictability, delivering under budget, passing all governance gates.
Java Upgrade (2024)
Smart DCC faced security risks from an outdated Java version. Engaged as Project Manager to remediate vulnerabilities. Led a 3-month project, managing external suppliers and collaborating with Ops, CTO, Security, and Test Assurance. Guided decisions, controlled costs, and delivered the upgrade to the strategic choice of OpenJDK, closing security risks, saving €300k annually in licensing, and achieving stakeholder satisfaction.

The largest smart meter installer in the UK SMS required its business proposition to incorporate the new generation of smart meters. Engaged as Agile Project Manager to deliver capability. Led 4 smart meter adapter integration projects, budget €930k; led software Scrum teams (offshore and UK), each ~8 specialists; developed a Web and mobile application; and onboarded ~20 suppliers. Successfully delivered a programme of multiple critical projects to establish new smart meter capabilities and gave the company a commercial edge.

Startup Corethree faced reputational issues and a fixed deadline after client escalation reached the Dutch royal family. Engaged to rescue the failing project. Documented, revised and agreed scope with client, reset UAT, restructured priorities for limited development resources while working closely with C-level stakeholders. Achieved timely delivery of app under a €350k budget, regaining client trust and restoring company reputation.
