Project history
Leading Design, R&D and Technology for a modular timber construction company, covering concept development, technical and detailed design, shop drawings, technology and manufacturing readiness. Developing and evaluating modular building concepts, coordinating multidisciplinary technical solutions, defining and monitoring technical scope, schedules and budgets, evaluating external designers and subcontractors, driving product and process optimisation including BIM development, and supporting tenders and non-standard projects through feasibility assessment and cost optimisation.
Established and led the R&D function and product/technology roadmap for modular timber construction. Developed product standards and modular system solutions for Polish and German markets. Led development of REI 120 timber-frame modular solutions and modular concepts for military applications including prototypes and technical validation. Coordinated European Technical Assessment (ETA), technical documentation, testing and cooperation with assessment and research bodies. Planned and coordinated fire, acoustic, airtightness and building-physics testing.
Led product and technology development for an international manufacturer of timber-frame modular buildings operating in Germany, Poland, Norway and Sweden. Developed modular building technologies and standard solutions with focus on repeatability, production efficiency, transport, assembly, technical performance and market compliance. Led a three-year, PLN 4.5m zero-energy modular building R&D project. Led the company side of the full-scale Fire Safe House research project with ITB and the State Fire Service. Managed technical market entry and product standards for Germany and maintained ETA/SINTEF-related technical approvals. Coordinated approximately 20 fire-resistance tests plus structural, acoustic and hygrothermal analyses. Implemented technical and cost optimisations including reduction of wall thickness from 330 mm to 290 mm.
